Great location, wonderful old building, lovely people and amazing breakfast

We absolutely loved our stay at the Amulet Hotel in Bukhara.
The hotel is something truly special — a beautifully restored 19th-century religious school (madrasah), built in 1861 by the prominent merchant Said Kamol and fully restored in 2005. Staying here feels like stepping into history. The atmosphere is warm, charming, and incredibly unique.
When we arrived, only one of our rooms was ready, so we were invited to relax on one of the many traditional couches and benches while enjoying tea with nuts and sweets. It was such a lovely welcome.
We stayed in rooms 23 (double) and 13 (single). The rooms retain the original restored furniture and character of the building while offering modern amenities. We especially loved the combination of history, authenticity, and comfort.
A couple of things to know: both of our rooms had windows facing the street, so there is some street noise even at night. We needed to close the windows to sleep comfortably. Also, there are spiral stairs to the second floor, so take a little care when using them.
The location is perfect for exploring Bukhara, and the entire hotel has such a wonderful atmosphere. You can tell that the owner takes great care of this beautiful historic property and maintains it with genuine pride.
If you appreciate history, character, and staying somewhere that feels completely different from a standard hotel, the Amulet is a wonderful choice. We loved

Beautiful calm and quiet central courtyard is beautifully arranged and so peaceful. Lovely friendly owner. Comfy bed and bed linen. Authentic old building beautifully preserved close to the old town. Wonderful breakfast of local treats.
Nothing! A kettle in the room would have been nice but the owner was happy to provide hot water when we asked.

The manager was a fantastic host. He served amazing daily breakfasts and provided a nice pot of tea with sweets on demand
