Clean and tidy but not welcoming.
Main lobby doors were only opened from security guard inside. I was worried about leaving in case I couldn't get back inside. Only 1 of the 3 lifts was functioning.
The hotel seems to be housing for a large immigrant population, who were fine, but I would not have paid £139 per night if I'd known.I think I was the only paying guest.

Very loud didn’t sleep at all.

No bar, no vending machine accepting credit card, no possibility to even get a bottle of water at arrival, or candy bar. Travelling for hours from abroad I was hungry and thirsty. Good for for keeping the weight at least :)
Get the vending machine to accept credit card (not always foreign guests have UK coins in their pocket and if they cant provide it in the reception...) Not impressed. But the staff was very nice, really.

The hotel is used as accommodation for asylum seekers and we were not informed of this before travelling. As two ladies travelling alone we did not feel safe so did not stay at the hotel and had to find another hotel at very short notice at 9.30pm. Thankfully the staff were very helpful and told us another hotel to try.

a bit tired. hard pillows. could not turn the heat off. noisy fans.

Cheap and cheerful
Fire alarm went off twice during the night waking us all up , there was someone cooking toast in one of the rooms and burning it , we could smell it in the hallways , unacceptable.

The room was clean and tidy, with clean linen and towels. The hotel fabric was a bit dated, and clearly used mostly by longer term "guests" - but i found the staff reasonably attentive and everything how i would expect it to be. It wasn't the Hilton, but it was alright for a couple of nights. Didn't attempt to find food or use the bar etc.

The hotel was not reported on the website has housing refugees. Doors slamming & banging all night long and generally rundown hotel, clearly not what it shown on website.
The whole hotel & having to be accommodated with refugees.

Having refugees or asylum seekers was not what I wanted at a hotel I was staying at I paid good money and this is the standard which would put me off staying at this hotel again

Leaving after the first night after booking 5 nights
Run down and extremely dated and extremely uncomfortable bed. TV which would continually turned off and reset every couple of minutes and then when we tried to turn it off had to get out of bed and turn it off at the socket
