Lotus Guesthouse

We booked a room and was upgraded to an apartment which was nice. We had living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The apartment was nicely warmed for the cold weather. The host was also nice and friendly.

The only thing is the shower only had warm water rather than hot and probably needs unclogging.

The location, in a calm area close to major sights and museums, minimarkets, restaurants and cafes all around, and walking distance from the bus stop for the airport in Sukhbataar square. The staff, very nice and helpful with luggage storage, money change, information, etc. The twin room is very big and in a traditional style. There is a fully equipped kitchen and it’s easy to meet other travellers.

You can’t close the room of the door if you are inside. Also the window doesn’t close well, so it might get chilly/noisy. Only 2 showers to share among the guests. But overall these are not major issues, the guesthouse is very nice!

It has most of the facilities that we need. The decoration was nice. The host was very friendly and helpful, she even gave us a ride when we couldn’t book a taxi.

It is actually in a nice neightbourhood and place is not bad. But the check-in was disaster! The staff was very rude, and not easy to communicate! We arrrived earlier then check-in but we already asked about this and they said its ok to come in. So we arrived and first they showed us another room then we booked and she said its not possible. And we insist to have to room that we booked, she said it will be ready later. Ik, so we wanted to leave our bags and shower and walk out. She said we cannot have shower before check-in! and this was absurd because all around the world I didnt see such thing wherever I stayed staff are always understandign and helpfull. And what is difference between me having shower before 2 hours or later!! When we were talking to her she just turned her back and walked away.
