Castex Hotel

Great location to either walk or very close to public transport both bus and trains. Many good restaurants in the area

Great customer service

Very small rooms

Location: Good and quiet. Within a 20–30 minute walk you can reach Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Saint‑Germain district. Rooms are as expected in Paris—small and tight, but better than many other hotels. At least we had enough space to place our luggage. Sleep comfort was good, and the ambient temperature was fine. There was a welcome bottle of wine, which we appreciated. A kettle was available for tea/coffee. Staff were helpful, with nice people at reception. Breakfast could be improved, but overall it was decent.

If you arrive late (but still within breakfast hours), cheese and ham platters may be empty, and croissants may be finished without being replenished, so you have to eat whatever is left. It is good to have a lift in such an old building; however, it was outdated, so you had to wait a long time. There were no indicators showing whether it was busy, on standby, or which floor it was on. As a result, you had to press the button several times and sometimes wait up to 7–8 minutes.
