Beautiful 3 room boutique property that has been in their family for many years. completely redone a few years ago with modern finishes. the courtyard between the rooms was our favorite place to sit and have a drink. The location was perfect. Very central. Pretty much 5 minutes from all the main sites and restaurants. The owner made sure we had an excellent experience. Prior to staying he emailed us a 16 page guide to Tavira and surrounding areas. When we checked in he welcomed us with a drink and discussed his recommendations further. He even made reservations for us at some restaurants because we don't speak Portuguese. We can't say enough about our experience at Azul Sul. We will definitely be back.

Azul sul was the perfect place to stay in tavira. It was close to everything but quiet. Jose was incredibly helpful. Everything was sparkling clean. The patio was lovely on a sunny afternoon. I highly recommend it!

Extremely friendly host, great garden/courtyard

A hidden little gem in Tavira - with the old traditional Portuguese house having been converted to 3 separate accommodations - our studio was perfect with cooking facilities and separate bedroom / kitchenette - perfect for our family of three with a newborn. Jose simply could not have been more accommodating and provided us with every info and even fresh local pastries. Slow to tell people about this rare find, but Jose and his wife (originally her family home) have put so much of themselves into the property, it would be amiss to not recommend. Would be perfect for groups or families to rent the 3 spaces and convene in the beautifully manicured courtyard.

The location was close to the shops, ferry to the beach and the old town. Very close to many restaurants and cafes. The host was very friendly and gave us ideas about what to do.

Location ideal for very very short walk into main town area.. Jose the host could not of been more welcoming his advice on restaurants places to visit was spot on. I very excellent alternative to a hotel lovely secure courtyard with three rooms off and sunny area for drinks and chats to your fellow travellers. Could not fault the location and facility especially the home made cake available after a day exploring.

Good air conditioning. Comfortable bed. Beautiful enclosed garden, so quiet, you would not know that you were in the city. The hosts gave us such useful information which is just what you need when you only have three nights. Nice shower. Good welcome when we arrived.

We got mixed up by the website and we thought we were getting a room with a washing machine and kitchenette so we could make breakfast. Nothing that we did not like about the property.

Jose treats you like you are a long lost , valued member of the family. He is the perfect host with his warm hospitality and his deep knowledge of the area. The location is terrific, easy walking distance to the centre and the ferry for Isla Tavira. The house is a beautifully restored family home and there are only 3 guest rooms. We met the other guests and in a small way became friends. We ate our breakfast in the central courtyard each day and came home to it each night for coffee by the candle lit ambiance. Tranquility ! Tavira is a great town for history buffs or beach goers. Jose will lend you self guided walking tour books that could keep you going for many days. This is one of the few places we have stayed where we may return primarily for the hotel. If we were returning to Tavira and Azul Sul was sold out we would likely change our dates just to be able to stay there.

I always try to give a balanced review but I can't find 1 thing to comment on negatively.

We were made to feel very welcome by Jose and Maria Helena for our 3 night stay - they were very flexible with our check in times. During the check in our hosts gave us detailed information of thing to do, places to visit and restaurant recommendations over a glass of wine and delicious home made cake. The accommodation is very well located and the sunny courtyard area with its shady seating very peaceful for sitting and relaxing. Everywhere is beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. There is an honesty bar for soft and alcoholic drinks. The hosts “go over and beyond” to ensure that their guests are happy and content. AzulSul is a gem! Thank you Jose and Maria Helena.

We really enjoyed the pace in Tavira. It's a charming location to explore or simply spend time by the water. The food was amazing and there was music in the evenings. It was a very relaxing start to our vacation.

I'd be hard pressed to offer something we didn't like. It was very hot so we quickly figured out why it's quiet in the afternoon. But the evening cooled off and everyone was back outside.

We loved the decoration of the room, and the welcome process with advices of good places to visit and a glass of wine offered by our kindly host 🥰 Also, the cosmetics available were excellent, and fresh flowers were an appreciated attention. There's a lot of touristic information available inside the rooms or in the living room. The breakfast was not included, but it was not a problem at all ! So that we were free to choose : our host recommended good pastelería in the village, and also kindly made an excellent orange cake. The place is very well cared : flowers, chill music, beautiful decoration.. Finally, the other guests are very respectful of intimacy of everybody.

Nothing, to be honest this accomodation was one of the best place I tried far from here.
