Hidden in a quiet side street of a 100-year old development where the streets are paved with blocks of stone, and you can feel the history with every step. The rooms are a dream, and while it's not an Onsen Ryokan, we enjoyed the gigantic bathtubs immensely. The team was incredibly attentive - even organising a pre-birthday cake for our eldest while we were there. The location is just footsteps away from an incredible temple and wide-ranging park, and you're in Gion in a few minutes. I am incredibly grateful that we had a chance to stay and enjoy ther hospitality.

Staying at Ishibekoji Muan was one of the best experiences in Japan. Their attention to details is remarkable and they make you feel at home from the very first moment. The room is amazing and very cozy. And the breakfast served in the room is super tasty. I highly recommend living this unique experience.

The Ryokan is beautiful and is in a very peaceful location. The hinoki bathtub is very relaxing and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Beautiful rooms, so peaceful, I had a great bathtub in my room. Rooms are amazing. Very traditional but with cute extras like Dyson hairdryer, nespresso machine, Aesop etc. Breakfast was amazing served in my room. I felt a million times better leaving than I did arriving and thanks to the team for amazing service and care.
I didn’t realise when I booked that this place does not have a restaurant for dinner, only breakfast. I wanted to chill out completely, but had to go out for dinner. They were very helpful in finding a good place to eat.
