MAMAKA Bali

The location was very convenient for walking over to surfing lessons, and close to the airport for our last stop in Bali. The pool looked awesome, but it was reserved for a private event, and unavailable. Sunset view from the rooftop was very nice. The room was nice, very western-style hotel.

The food was overpriced, service was slow, and not the best in both restaurants. We found better food down the street. Also, it is loud in the front of the property due to karaoke and parties - reserve a room in the back of the property in order to actually sleep. There was a laundry facility on the first floor, but it was always busy and I ended up washing a few items out in the sink in my room instead. The pool was reserved for a private event, so it wasn't available. The patio was kind of creepy, as it had no view and shared space with all the other rooms. It is just a place to sit and smoke outside. Lock your patio door at night. Unlike every other place in Bali, this hotel does not have car/vehicle service to drive you anywhere, so you have to reserve your own rides for everything. They do have a concierge/service desk with many people working there, but service was slow and less personal than other hotels. Book your own transportation and events in Kuta ahead of time and don't waste time with the concierge at this place. Request a room in the back so you can sleep. Check if the pool is actually available.

Amazing fun Hotel, good food/drinks downstairs, didn't spend much time up top but it looked fantastic. Rooms are neat and funky, a little extra pizzaz put into the decor is great. Easy quick access to the surf and shops. Staff are friendly, young and trendy.

Plenty of amenities but no way to escape the heat except retreating to your room. Neither eating place has an enclosed A/C area. It's either pool and a wet chair or swelter.

Good location, free drink on arrival, app to order water, food, pillows, etc.

Not very clean, shower grout was black and yellow, bad built up limescale. Hallways smelly like old stagnant water. Pool had a lot of missing or broken tiles on the bottom which was quite sharp.
