Garden was superb and the night manager was lovely, very sincere and very welcoming and very helpful as was the receptionist at the end. All the stained glass windows were inspiring and beautiful. It was an economical stay in comparison to other places.

It is not for solo travellers.. It’s really for pilgrimage groups. There was a big noise both mornings at 7am and woke me up..( maybe a boiler?) Room was very basic and quiet at end of a corridor but you could hear other peoples doors closing as all on heavy springs.. My room was on the main road and Sat night lots of noisy people leaving pub The breakfast and environment very corporate and just not inspiring or exciting. I felt very cut off and lonely in my building. Bit like halls of residence as a student. Im sure people on pilgrimages and Anglicans found it all very acceptable but im a creative artist and was in the wrong place. It didn't help arriving tired and in the dark.
