Guyers House Hotel and Restaurant

Beautiful building and surrounds with easy access to town - 20min walk or a short Uber. Plenty bambies frolicking in the adjacent fields

No meals - I thought it was advertised as restaurant among the list. Apparently the restaurant is only open when there is a function !

Fabulous setting in large grounds, with a lovely old building. Friendly staff and a decent breakfast.

Only thing I would say is our room was a bit tired ….. gotta be tough maintaining an older building like this.

The window in the room was small and too high to look out of otherwise the room was perfectly adequate for one night.

The location for us was good, we had a short drive to our final destination. The grounds of the hotel ,gardens , were beautiful. The architecture of the buildings and courtyard were exceptional. Nice courtyard to sit in after dinner.

Apart from an excellent waitress and her male colleague who looked after us at Dinner I thought the staff were just about ok. We arrived early, room not yet ready, which we accept, but the staff member we met us was not that welcoming. When you present yourself to a hotel receptionist you kind of respect them to stand and welcome you and not sit at their desk below eye level. Could have been better. In addition the staff member who we dealt with at breakfast was poorly presented. Maybe a better staff uniform would work well. ? Poorly laid out breakfast table, we had to seek out spoons etc. Breakfast just about ok too. Dinner was nice but a little overpriced I thought. Nice fillet steak but a small piece of meat on the plate.
