The Slate Hotel Denver Downtown, Tapestry by Hilton

We loved how friendly and helpful the staff was. The location was excellent for our activities and the neighborhood was so very quiet. We were able to walk to almost every activity with using Lyft for one dinner reservation. We also like how close it is to the Performing Arts area.

The cost of parking is high at $64 a day but we found a lot a few blocks away that could use and stay within our budget. The Slate is so close to 16th Street and the Free Ride so that was very convenient. We absolutely loved the old school feel as it was so unique.

Customer service was outstanding, the facilities outside of the room were as one would expect of a Denver hotel. I give our stay a solid 4 stars.

I'm the type of person who gives everything the benefit of the doubt. The kind lady at the desk was very helpful. She gave us a key to a room on the ground floor a few minutes before the 4:00PM checkin. Walking in the room, I felt an immediate claustophobic reaction because I hadn't anticipated a small room with gray walls and the windows were way above my head. The desk lady gladly gave us another room, to my surprise the room was the same small size and color but the lower windows helped me. Room size and color are the only thing stopping me from awarding 5 stars. Small rooms should be brightly colored to offset the size whereas darker colors accentuate the small size.

Great location

This hotel is located right next to the Convention Center, so It is ideal if you travel for work, but for some reason hotel management is not able to provide tax invoice if you make booking at Booking.com As a result I was not able to get necessary documentation for my books. Customer support at Booking.com did not help and advised to contact hotel. Hotel told that I should retrieve tax invoice from Booking.com
