The Editory Riverside Hotel, an Historic Hotel

Perfect location when traveling by train to and from Porto. Right in the station yet surprisingly quiet in the room. Quiet bar and lounge. Decent gym.

A bit of a steep walk to quainter Alfama neighborhoods but doable.

Picked due to staying in the editory in Lagos before staying in Lisbon and having a really positive experience there with the food, the staff, the room and the lovely facilities.

Room was fine. Thought a hotel by the water would be a good choice, and realised it would be a walk into town which would have been fine if we had enjoyed our short stay more. We didn’t feel the hotel was worth the walk. Thought the staff did their job fine but with little warmth or energy. To give an example, completely my mistake but l’d booked for one night and not two. I didn’t have a problem with the unavailability for the second night and was perfectly capable of sourcing another hotel, but the simple offer to see if they could help us in any way would have gone a long way, especially given we were finding this out at midnight. We stayed the second night at the Turim Boulevard and the staff there were much more welcoming. Such a shame as it would make me think twice about using the chain again, when our previous Lagos experience had been really good.
