The staff could not have been friendlier.
Phone connection poor but didn't bother me as picks up further up the road.

Nice secluded spot near to Cragside NT. Good food and plenty of parking.
.
Rooms are dated and proably (the one we stayed in) was not suitable for children due to low opening window.

The room was large, clean and had everything you needed. The food both in the evening and at breakfast was very good - the menu was interesting, cooked and presented to a high standard and reasonably priced for the quality. The staff were friendly. Plenty of parking.
Be aware that some rooms are accessed via steep stairs which may be difficult for some travellers. The outside covered area needs attention, tables were dirty and the area needs sweeping.

Location was good for us as we were attending a sporting event nearby.
The little touches were nice decent tea/ coffee complimentary water in room, lovely fluffy towels and crisp white bedding, bedroom could do with a mirror on the dressing table.
On the surface it looks good new floors/ seating in bar but it is the attention to detail that needs addressing, just needs a good thorough overhaul, the carpet leading to upstairs looked like it hadn’t seen a hoover for a while… walls and doors in need of a repaint … our shower was blocked so over flowed…
