Really good location, not in the most hectic part but for most people without our mobility issues, it's central enough . Taxis especially Ubers or Bolt are very inexpensive so we were able to still explore well. The room was a fair size and kept very clean. There was a fridge and plenty of complimentary water provided. The bar was open regularly and served nice drinks. We did not eat in the restaurant. We also didn't visit the pool area so can't comment.

The initial welcome was not very good. They seemed quite "flat" there was no cheerfulness or interest in our checking in. I had to find my email to prove we had been offered a complimentary breakfast during our stay. Unfortunately the breakfast was sampled once on the first day in Porto and not again. I had chosen this hotel mostly due to reviews stating great breakfast especially with gluten free options. The coffee was to me, undrinkable. It was heavily flavoured with chicory and very unpleasant. From a cheap machine. The selection wasn't bad, quite a lot of choice but it was all very bland and tasteless. I had a creme caramel type dessert to take the taste of the coffee away, but it didn't taste of anything. My husband had said his bacon was nice. But there were only two pieces left. He said that it had been removed. This was around twenty minutes BEFORE the end of breakfast. However when I asked the waitress or member of staff was brusque and said "no more, not at this time...breakfast is finished" which so upset me in tone that I simply left and we chose not to go back and to eat elsewhere. The concierge with the maps was the highlight in terms of the staff. He was much more personable and warm. He helped us to know where the market was and other landmarks. I realise we had been spoilt by a once-in-a-lifetime standard at our hotel in Lisbon so it perhaps is an unfair comparison.
