Altis Porto Hotel, a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts- LVX

There is no place like Altis Porto. Such a wonderful establishment! The staff makes you feel welcome and caters to all your needs. I stayed for a whole week enjoying the amenities at the hotel besides talking walks in the beautiful neighborhood. I particularily enjoyed having lunch by the pool on the hotel's rooftop. There one can enjoy the beautiful view of the river Douro below and the city of Porto of course. The breakfast is exceptional; I enjoyed all the freshly cut fruit and honey. They also have cooked veggies besides all the regular things you would expect at a breakfast table such as omelets a la your choice, toast, buns, cakes, cheeses, granola, yoghurts, hams etc etc.

The hotel looked really nice, it was 10 minute walk from the bus station taking you to the Praia do Gondarem and others, which we loved. Also, it was 20ish-minute walk from all the sightseeing locations, which proved convenient during our stay. Breakfast was nice, with pastel de nata every morning. There was a gym which is an additional plus for us. And not to forget the arranged ride from the airport, which was a big plus for us after a 4-hour flight!

The only thing that could have been better is the pool, both inside and outside, it is rather small, and not suitable for swimming.

Clean, new, modern, helpful staff.

Location was a bit of a distance from the center but we were able to walk there and back. Quiet neighborhood. Due to some construction? GPS didn’t get us there easily so we wound up driving in circles for about a half hour.
