The Victoria Hotel

On this occasion a group of American children were staying at the hotel. They were shouting in the corridor between their rooms and banging doors til 10 o'clock on one night of our stay. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. The food was delicious and affordable. Breakfast was hearty with a wide variety of choices. The room was small but very cozy.

Close to Canterbury town centre approx 15-20mins walk. Good sized car park, shame no EV chargers. Welcoming and friendly staff apart from on one occasion. Room was ok nothing special but worked for our stay. Good choice at breakfast and great that the full English option is cooked fresh for you when you order.

Room was ok but the net curtain has a large rip in it . There was a standard choice of tea/coffee and hot chocolate which is ok but no bottled water . A fridge would have been nice as had to buy water/soft drinks singularly because had nowhere to keep them cold. Had to ask for more toiletries on arrival - there were 2 of us and we were left with one very small shower gel and one very small hair conditioner. There was no none slip bath mat for having a shower. which is quite dangerous. Housekeeping only service the room when you request it before 10:30 so if you forget you have to wait till the next day . The sink cabinet in the bathroom had the veneer peeling off. The bed was comfy but the pillows were very lumpy. One member of staff was quite rude when we tried to pay for breakfast as he said ‘I told you if you wanted to not put it on your room you’d have to say so at the time of having the breakfast!’ - we forgot!!

We booked the family room which was convenient enough and large.

Typical "traditional english hotel". Not much to complain about, nothing very special to mention either. Location convenient for us, as our main focus was not on being in the middle of the city but rather wanted to be closer to the motorway.
