We were greeted by the staff and they answered all our questions. They helped us throughout our anniversary trip. We rented the bikes, took a horse and buggy tour and ate in the restaurant there at the resort. The spa was excellent and relaxing. We could not have asked for a more accommodating and helpful staff. The location is great. The rooms and facility was clean. Great for family or couples. Thank you!

Stayed in the main building. Very clean rooms. Front desk staff was very helpful. Water tastes great. Fridge and microwave are in the closet - we missed them until the day we were leaving! The toilet in the bathroom was really tall. I'm 5'2" and my feet did not touch the ground all the way (like I was on tiptoes). Tall people might love it. ** the room was extremely noisy ** you can hear all kinds of floor creaks, doors closing, and voices from neighboring rooms. I heard the people above us one night from about 9 until 2:30am. Sounded like they were just pacing back and forth (??) or maybe just picking up their luggage and dropping it over and over (haha). The next night was better but still happened from when we got back around 7 until 11pm, although it could've been longer because based on the night before I took NyQuil and put a second pillow above my head. Because the noise impacted our sleep so much I won't be staying here again, but maybe if you go to bed late you wouldn't notice.

The staff was all incredibly friendly and well trained.
The environment was very peaceful and relaxing, with one exception: Next time I’ll know to avoid getting the room right next to the elevator.
Will stay here again.

Stayed a couple nights with our dog. We were allowed to eat on their outdoor patio with the dog, staff, service and food were great! Straits Lodge was very quiet and clean. We have already booked our trip for next year!

Room was in very good shape and clean, all staff were friendly and professional. It is a bit of a walk from the downtown area, but there are taxis.

We’ll be back! Large, spacious rooms, clean and well-stocked facilities, and just off the main drag so you get some peace and quiet. The sun chairs on the large front lawn were ideal for a night cap, and the patio was perfect for breakfast.

My daughter and I loved the grounds and surrounding area, and everyone was so nice and friendly! The buildings retain the flavor of their history, while the rooms offer modern amenities.
The only thing I would like to see change is exhaust fans in the bathroom.

Beautiful spot. Bit of a walk to the downtown area and extremely noisy in rooms (you can hear everything from the rooms beside you to above you).

The hotel and grounds are great! Great views of Lake Huron and the Straits. Some of the hotel is dated, including the elevators. Guest rooms are nice but spread out all around the property. About 3/4 mile walk from Ferry Docks. Staff and Services was friendly and professional. Would stay here any time!

The property was beautiful but the room was poorly furnished and was not worth the price. Would not stay there again.

The relaxed, laid back atmosphere, feeling like you’re stepping back in time is amazing. I enjoyed walking to town and the delicious food available nearby.

Couldn’t have been a better night’s sleep! Corner room on the second floor, quiet sound of rolling waves through open windows with a cool, fresh breeze!

This was our first stay at Mission Point. The place was expensive and worth every penny. The staff was outstanding! We will be back, for sure!

wonderful place, great location. Only one negative... our room did not have a dresser. this made it unpleasant to basically live out of suitcase. I did call front desk and they did confirm we would need to use the closet that had a high shelf. If did have a folding luggage rack however that was a pain to use each day. Also if you were older it would be difficult to use.

Room location was terrible. Heard the noise from the elevator and all the rooms around us. Alarm in the room was set for 6am. Staff did their jobs but were not friendly. Got seated at the bar at the bistro and waited 30 minutes and no one waited on us. We went to the hostess to be told they were closing. Not when we were seated. Food in the main dining room was awful and came out cold

The rooms were not brought up to standards for older adults. Shower very slippery with no grab bar available

AMAZING STAFF AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! It is clear to me that these
Employees enjoy their job and it shows to the guests. Our room was clean, comfortable, and fairly updated. The nautical theme was calming. We were so happy we chose this resort!

All was good , but the rooms are not comparable to the prices they offer ,they are small

This place was such a waste. For the amount they are charging, it’s absolutely ridiculous. I booked this place because of the amazing reviews and I’m still having a hard time understanding these amazing reviews. The place is extremely old and very dirty. You can see spider webs all around the hallways, the rooms weren’t clean. The stairs were always dirty carpets. Our towels had brown stains, the chair in the room also had brown stains. And the tub!! Goodness. The entire grout was nearly black! I wish Expedia would allow me to show the pictures. I was just appalled for the price. Also, we didn’t find any lawn games as mentioned, and everything else in the facility comes with a price. So you’re paying over 300 for a room and everything else you pay extra. Also, there is no microwave in the room, never seen that before. It was just not a pleasant experience. For 100, maybe but not over 300. Also, keep in mind there is a very strong horse poop smell throughout the facility. I personally wouldn’t stay overnight on the island, but if you do, I’m sure there are others. I would prefer staying on the Main Street. We stayed outside of the island for 2 nights at a cheaper hotels and had a 10x better experience. I don’t normally write bad reviews, but I would stay away and look for something else

We loved our stay other than the lack of communication during a 3 hour power outage during the night.

Absolutely beautiful property. The lawn with the Adirondack chairs overlooking Lake Huron is spectacular. I'm thrilled that they are pet friendly so I could bring my dog on the trip to Mackinac Island. Another convenience is the multiple restaurants and shops

It was like stepping back in time. We had the most relaxing vacation we have ever had, best family time. No cars, just beautiful horses and bicycles.

I will begin by sharing the staff were wonderful and EXTERIOR was beautiful. I can only share extreem disappointment with our room. The room was small and poorly maintained. There were many bathroom tiles that were cracked with no grout. Frankly, it felt unclean. The tv was beyond tiny and the hairdryer plug was broken( safety hazard). We were in the Straights Lodge and there was a small coffee shop for breakfast/coffee/snacks. Clearly, an employee didn't show up for work at the small coffee shop. We had to call to report the missing employee. The shop was to open at 7am, at 8am, no one was working. I realize it is challenging to find staff, but when managing a resort that boasts extraordinary service and charges these higher fees, details matter. Other factors include, that the room was booked for and we were charged for three guests. Yet, it was only set for two ( not enough coffee or cups).
Also, it is a large property to access. Bikes or some sort of transport should be available at no charge to get around the property. Finally, for the fees charged, shuttle from ferry should be included. Sadly, I would not advise anyone stay here. I don't like leaving poor reviews, but I have had better and nicer accommodations at "chain" hotels. This is a reflection of poor ownership and management. In no way, do I want to leave a poor reflection poor of the staff.

I have stayed at this property many times over the years and it only keeps getting better. I choose it because it is away from the busy-ness of the main street area; has a swimming pool; has beautiful views of Lake Huron; has multiple dining options; has lots of sitting/reflecting spaces; and has an amazing lawn with loads of comfortable chairs for just appreciating the beauty or reading. A bonus is that in recent years, I have been taking young grandchildren there, and kids eat free for dinner and breakfast. Unlike many places, the kids' food is GREAT too. My three LOVED their choices. As if there were not enough to love, the staff in the dining room and the pool could not have been kinder. They all talked with the kids (6, 8, and 12) and kidded and made them feel important.
