This historic building seems period furnished (not an expert here) and was very well maintained. The operation is well organized. The staff was friendly and attentive. The breakfast included a few selections for each element. The food was not all prepared to order but was of good quality. there was an fantastic breadth of teas from which to select but be warned that formal tea service (a quest of my spouse) is not available everyday.

I loved the Mary Poppins theme! And the options for teas were amazing. I also loved that, when we came back to our room late in the evening after seeing a show in Boston, Frank Sinatra was playing in the parlor!

This is a very unique place to stay and we could tell it is VERY well maintained. The whole place is so beautiful but as someone who works in hospitality, I took extra notice of how clean everything was, and little extras like the tea and coffee stations that are available all night. The yard is impeccable as well. However, the most impressive detail to me was all of the beautiful crown moulding, doorframes, etc. The owners very clearly put a lot of work and pride into what they do.

Tjis place has always been a great place to stay. They have fixed the WiFi coverage and the download speeds are great.

I was thrilled with the Inn. Easy check in with clear directions and comfortable surroundings. I loved my room. The bed was very comfortable and it had all the amenities I could ask for. Cleanliness is one thing I notice and my room and bathroom, as well as the hallways and dining areas met that expectation very well. Without a doubt, I would choose this Inn when traveling or just needing a getaway for a night or two.

As a boutique property, the Silver Fountain Inn was wonderful. I loved my room and all the Victorian touches as well as the water and wine options in the room. The dining room was beautifully set up with coffee and tea available throughout the day. Breakfast was delicious. Hosts Jim and Pam were cheerful and helpful. I would return if ever I happen to be in the area and would recommend it to others.

Cool place if you love authentic tea parties and antiques. The owners are wonderful. They made nice made to order full breakfasts. Room was well appointed, roomy and clean. We enjoyed our stay.

The Inn was lovely- we were curious about the Wizard of Oz theme, but then read that that is the celebration this month- very fun and whimsical!! Our hostess was lovely, and the breakfast was amazing!

We only have one night in Dover visiting our son. So glad we stayed at Silver Fountain Inn, beautiful place. The inn is located right in Dover, so close to everything in town. Parking lot is right in front of the inn. We were able to check in early. Our room was exactly as described on the site, gorgeous and comfortable. We had a good quiet night, slept in. Enjoyed our delicious breakfast downstairs. Just perfect! This will be our place to stay when we are back in Dover! Thank you Pam for your hospitality!

Loved this inn. Free tea and coffee for guests and a full breakfast every morning which is very unusual for most hotels.

I had been looking for an unusual place to stay for a few days while visiting my son and his family in Dover. He recommended the Silver Fountain Inn, based on a rave review by his sister-in-law, who stayed there some months ago. The owners were very warm and friendly, but not intrusive and made me feel very welcome. I stayed in the English Rose room on the third floor, which was very picturesque and had a nice view of surrounding properties and large trees from its two windows. The breakfasts were made to order and were delicious and filling. I made a big hit with my 3-year old granddaughter, whom I had never met until this trip, by giving her my blueberry muffin from breakfast! All in all, it was a great and much needed vacation. Thanks to all!

Just lovely and a particularly comfortable bed.

There's one room at this place without a bath in the room and I got it. (I guess I missed the small print) Even that bath was not clean and ready for me at 3 pm check-in. They said it would be ready at 4...slightly rudely because I seemed impatient. The rooms are very "old fashioned" in a stuffy way. There were old socks in one drawer and a soiled paper towel in the bath...after it was cleaned. And, NO TOWELS. Checking in was tedious and awkward in a narrow hallway. Breakfast was an endless wait just for coffee, with the one staff repeating how busy it was and she was alone, so I was supposed to not care that it took 20 min for one cup of coffee. I left. Glad it was just one night.

I was upset that I couldn’t get wifi as advertised. It’s very important to my business while on the road. I chose accommodations that ensure wifi. It went in and out during the whole stay. Not good. Everything else was dreamlike and wonderful.

We had a fantastic stay; convenient on-site parking. Inn was close to a walking trail and downtown. Breakfasts were delicious and filling. Pam & Jim were amazing hosts. Room was comfortable and quaint. No central air, but rooms had window ACs. Good shower pressure.

Charming inn only 15 minutes away from Portsmouth, NH. Nice to be able to leave the hustle and bustle of the city to enjoy delicious tea that’s served 24 hours. The Dorothy suite was very spacious and clean, the bed was very high up but a step stool was provided which was nice. The grounds around the inn were filled with beautiful flowers. Definitely nice to wake up enjoy some coffee/tea sitting in the gardens. Breakfast was delicious. The staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend to my friends and family if ever in the area.

While falling a bit shy of top-star rating, we found the Inn comfortable, clean, with friendly accommodating staff. High tea was delightful…and plentiful. Attention to some minor details (cleaning windows, eg) would add a little sprucing-up that is too evidently needed.

It was amazing. The room was terrific, the hotel absolutely charming, and the breakfast delicious. I recommend this Inn without any hesitation and plan to stay there again.

We found the house a really special place to stay. Lots of period features and furnishings. Great breakfast and good coffee available all day.

The people were very nice. The facility was very clean. Our room was quite small, 6, and the mattress too squishy so we slept poorly. The quiche was bland and I would have liked knowing we could have ordered eggs off menu as they looked really good.

We stayed the night for a pirate murder mystery dinner and it was wonderful! The owners of the Silver Fountain Inn are just lovely and the grounds are great. The tea parlor is very inviting and oh my gosh, the food was divine! We are already planning another trip to visit, even if it is not to stay the night, it is a great spot for lunch or tea time! 😊 Murder Mystery Dinners seem to sell out quick but we definitely want to be involved in another one soon! Thank you for such a lovely visit, we look forward to seeing you again!

Impeccably maintained historical grand home; elegant Victorian features and décor, original silk wall coverings, architectural details perfectly preserved and cared for; sumptuous and classy in every little detail for comfort. Pam and Jim are gracious hosts, made us feel welcome and at home. Available teas and coffees, homemade breakfasts, use of amenities, and sharing this incredible home and property are a gift.

This is a beautiful, old house with high ceilings and a lot of character. The host was gracious and helpful, and the room was spacious and well-furnished. There's a lot to like about the hotel with a few minor shortcomings. The location is perfect, a quiet residential area but a short walk to downtown and to the train station.
