I am your host, Franck, a former postman. In 2013 I bought this ruined building in the heart of Old Lyon and, passionate about old stone and restoration, I carried out the work myself to open it as a chambre d'hôtes — a guesthouse.

Absolutely the best. First, the apartment was in a building that was 100's of years old with open timbers, tiles and even a mosaic. It was extremely comfortable and every need or want was anticipated including a stocked refrigerator, espresso machine, washer/dryer including detergent and plenty of supplies. We would definitely stay again!

Great room in old town Lyon. Had feel of old Renaissance lodge with old ceiling beams.
But had very modern kitchen and bathroom/ shower.Had a washer dryer!which was excellent.
Coffee maker /grinder was awesome too!
Took some time to find by Uber and GPS.....and to figure out entrances and lock box ....but now we are pros for next time ...and we will definitely be back.highly rate staying here.

Great location and a beautiful old building that has been renovated. Only problem is if you have a lot of luggage the steps can be tricky.
No breakfast as such but you can make your own with stuff in the fridge.

Great location for the old town.
Lovely historic building with its own traboule.
We paid extra for an Executive Suite (room 6) which had an enormous comfortable living room / dining room / kitchen.
Plenty of electric sockets and equipment including a kettle.
Steep stone staircases, but the owner helped us with luggage.
The bedroom was quite small, considering the total space available.
Glass partitions made it impossible to use the bathroom lights without waking up my wife.
Not a dislike, but an unexplained oddity - on 22nd July I received an email saying the property had changed its name from Loge du Vieux Lyon to St Paul. The day after, I received another email saying it had changed its name from St Paul to Loge du Vieux Lyon.
