BoHo Hotel Budapest - Small Luxury Hotels

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Boho Budapest! We were kindly given a complimentary upgrade, and the room was absolutely incredible — spacious, beautiful, and even better than we expected. The staff also helped us arrange a massage at the hotel, which was a lovely touch. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we would happily stay here again!

I have traveled to every continent in my life and stayed in countless hotels, but this was by far the absolute best hotel experience I have ever had. Everything was perfect, clean, and beautiful. Every single staff member and receptionist was constantly smiling, kind, friendly, and incredibly helpful. The room met every possible need, with plenty of wardrobe space, drawers, hangers, and a luggage rack. Instead of just a simple welcome drink, we were greeted with a premium quality 750ml bottle of wine, a liter of mineral water, four types of snacks (with thoughtful options for gluten-free guests), and eight coffee capsules. The design is beautiful, and there is convenient parking available. The mattress and bed were extremely comfortable. The bathroom layout was excellent, featuring a separate shower area, a separate bathtub area, and a completely separate toilet room. Everything was flawless. I must especially highlight the staff: they are young, enthusiastic, and their friendliness feels entirely genuine, not forced at all. It honestly felt like they took true joy in doing their jobs. They were not just professional, but possessed a level of warmth and hospitality that I have never encountered in any hotel anywhere else in the world—be it in Asia, the Americas, or beyond. This was the only hotel where EVERY SINGLE SERVICE, without exception, was absolutely perfect.

Everything, from start to finish was perfect! We were very kindly welcomed by the hotel staff, who helped us store our luggage upon early arrival. Additionally, they provided us with a free ticket for public transportation, which was a very pleasant bonus. The rooms were very spacious, with a large bed, a living area, and a huge bathroom with a shower, a bath, double sinks, good lighting, etc. The complementary coffee they provided in the room was very good! Finally, the food was exceptional. There is a large continental breakfast available with a choice of fresh ingredients every day. You can clearly see how the team takes the effort to prepare fresh meals every day, and you can taste it as well! You can also ask for freshly prepared omelets/scrambed/sunny eggs with a selection of toppings and a salad, which was delicious and I've had every day in a different variation. From all the hotels I've visited in the past, this has one of the best breakfasts I've experienced. In particular I must complement chef Gyula (sorry in case I got the name wrong). I've had very nice chats with him every morning as he greeted me, asked how my day was, how my sleep was, etc. He then proposed to prepare me my breakfast and bring it to my table and just brought me the most delicious meals. The day we left, which was early in the morning, he even prepared us breakfast to-go so we don't stay hungry at the airport, at 06:30 in the morning!!!! His approach to me made the stay feel more like home rather than a hotel stay. I am sure that if I would meet him on the street, I would go get some beers with him! He definitely deserves a raise or another form of appreciation, as he took my stay from a 9/10 to a solid 10/10 single-handedly.

Nothing really, but if one thing should be said, its the lighting in the bathroom mirror. My partner found it difficult to apply her makeup in the lighting. This is really nitpicking though.

I came across this small boutique hotel while planning my recent birthday trip to Budapest. With so many excellent properties to choose from, I decided to give BoHo Hotel Budapest a try, despite its less-than-ideal location. Unfortunately, the stay proved rather disappointing. I made my reservation on 19 July 2025. Given the length of my 1-week stay and the occasion, I had hoped the management might assign me a pleasant room, perhaps one with a reasonably attractive outlook. Instead, I was given a Level 2 room next to a staircase with both windows facing directly onto a block wall. Drawing the curtains each morning to be greeted by a wall was hardly the most uplifting start to the day. The room consequently felt rather gloomy. I should add that I did appreciate the upgrade offered by the hotel. The upgraded room was genuinely beautiful, particularly the bathroom. Unfortunately, the positive impression created by the room was considerably undermined by the housekeeping and service issues that followed. From an ex-hotelier’s perspective, the more serious concern was the standard of housekeeping. The room was booked for single or double occupancy, yet it was supplied with only one face towel, one bath towel and one set of toiletries. I might have understood this had it been clearly presented as part of an environmental initiative. What was less understandable was that, once an item had been used, it was not replenished during subsequent housekeeping visits. On several occasions, I had to contact the front desk to request replacement toiletries and towels. On two occasions, I was told that housekeeping had already finished for the day and that I should come downstairs to collect the items myself. One front desk staff member even explained that she was working alone that evening. When I eventually went down, there were visibly two staff members at the desk, a small detail perhaps, but not one that inspired confidence.
