Incredible location.

The location of this inn is exceptional. The village and surrounding areas are beautiful - perfect for exploring the Dales
Very pretty dining area, lit by candles in the evening - old fireplace, etc. Very cute
The dark haired female manager was superb - we were allocated room 7 but with a dog friendly room above it, the ceaseless padding/scratching noise was terrible and she promptly moved us to room 1 in the main house. Very kind
The breakfast offering is very good
The inn is quite tired in places although there is a planning permission for renovation and an garden deck. It has so much potential
The spung mattress was not very comfortable and the sash window would not open
As mentioned in other reviews, the food is really really pricey. I had the lamb rump which at £41 was rather disappointing. The hispy cabbage came in a pool of white liquid and the lamb itself was very tough, difficult to cut with dinner knife. I fed back when asked and the lamb was taken from the bill which was appreciated

Lovely inn, excellent staff, great breakfasts and good dinners.
Just that dinners in the restaurant were pricey and dogs were allowed in.

Lovely setting and old pub
The room we were allocated had a bed that was falling apart and the mattress was so soggy and uncomfortable. The room was dated and in need of a refurbishment. We complained and were moved to another room which was better
