Location was right in Sassi, once we found it, it was great. Bring your walking shoes as there are lots here. We liked our room with separate entrance and upgrades to the room and bathroom. Great for two people. Definitely would stay here again. The view of the Sassi from the terrace is really spectacular. The real gem is the hostess, who was helpful answering our questions and helped book a taxi.

Amazing views - well appointed. Helpful staff.
Location was also wonderful
The private garden and terraces were a lovely surprise and terrific spot for a relax and BYO aperitif.

A fabulous apartment inside one of Matera’s sassi, it was atmospheric, romantic and incredibly comfortable. We loved the little touches - the small complimentary bottle of Prosecco, the flower petals on the bed (even though we were far from honeymooners!) - as well as the apartment’s facilities, including the enormous bathroom and its whirlpool bath. We especially loved the private terrace and enjoyed sunset views from the seating area there. Breakfast was delicious and all the staff were very helpful with all our enquiries including some fantastic restaurant recommendations.
Nothing. We loved the whole experience.

Breakfast was good, lady who served reception/breakfast good.
toilet on same floor as bed. More storage space in bathroom, very impractical layout. Proper china mugs for making hot drinks, not paper cups.
