The Leddie Hotel

Hotel was nice. Friendly staff.Free parking.Nice location in East Lothian. Good L’occitan toiletries. Good coffee machine in room. Nice free cans of water in fridge.Fresh squeezed orange juice at breakfast.

I wouldn’t bother, but it does say on the website they are about the small details and always looking to find ways to get better. It was a very comfortable hotel. They just need to dust a bit better, especially on top of the wardrobe and behind the tv. Beans and or tomato would be nice with cooked breakfast and marmalade for toast. On check in the staff were adequate, but didn’t really try and find anything out about us. We booked the smallest room late in the evening and whilst I didn’t ask, an upgrade would have an easy win for them given there were larger rooms available.

Breakfast choice was good. Dinner was fine. Room was comfortable and cosy. Fridge was a welcome bonus. Most staff were fantastic- especially Siobhan & Jamie, and the youngsters- Ashley, Hamish, Daniel & Cody.

Not much atmosphere in the restaurant, despite lovely staff. We did not like tables laid out in rows and temperature was cool in the eating area.

Beautiful hotel in the cutest village with very friendly and attentive staff. The Sunday roast was perfection.

Could have done with a small bedside lamp in the cosy room.

The young man who came from the bar to check us in was fantastic. The receptionist wasn't there. The decor of the rooms and hotel in general is great. Artwork is lovely. Cleanliness is clear. And the outside aesthetic is lovely. Breakfast, when it came, was lovely. Appreciated the home made shortbread and coffee in the rooms. Very comfortable beds.

Honestly, for the 2nd time now...breakfast doesn't meet standards. The staffing is inadequate and there doesn't seem to be much staff training. I get that the hotel is busy (I'm pleased for it) ...but for goodness sake, get a pot of tea/coffee down on the table as a gesture and explain that you're busy. We sat at an empty table for 25 minutes with no acknowledgement before I had to get up and ask to be served. It would also be nice to have a bowl of fruit salad next to the bread table -- at least then if you're busy, people can eat something healthy.
