Location was great for exploring the island. Douglas has a good network of trains, trams and buses for getting around the island. Plenty of good eating places within walking distance.
Dora the host was very helpful. We arrived on the late boat, docking at 10pm and she was there to meet us and show us our room. Great selection on the buffet style breakfast.
Mattress was a little soft compared to what we prefer. This is a traditional Victorian building with steep staircases, we were fine, but it would be difficult if you had mobility issues.

* Dora (the Manageress & amazing host)
* Convenient location (easy flat walk to everything)
* The Brekky Master Chef Man
* The breakfast options (good range of yummy cooked & continental options)
* Nicely restored heritage-like building
* Two lovely parks right across the road (one quite spacious with picnic benches, the other with mysterious little forest walk)
* Comfortable bed (with handy power points & device charging ports)
* Clean (& pleasant cleaning staff)
* Reasonably priced
Things Not For Everyone (but didn’t bother me on my 6 night stay):
* Staircase (narrowish)
* Rooms good but not fancy
* Creaky floorboards here & there (mild)
* Brekky may not be available in winter (check)

Location was good. Breakfast was ok but some items could have been warmer. The host was very attentive and helpful and Tommy the chef was very accommodating. Each day when we went down to breakfast the room had been cleaned by the time we got back.
We were disappointed with the room - very small, cramped and dated (a bit like a step back to B&Bs in the 1960s/70s). We were on the 3rd floor - 46 stairs up and no lift, plus 8 very steep/high steps up to the property from the curbside with no apparent disabled access. The double bed was comfortable and all bed linen was decent quality, a king size bed would have been better but would not have fit in the room. The bathroom, although very clean had a damp smell to it, obviously as there was no window and just a small extractor fan.
