St Catherines Cottage The Old Schoolhouse

Did not have breakfast. Parking. Lovely garden. Friendly host. Just off the high street in a country setting. Excellent location.

Bath not easy to use.

Super clean and welcoming .. Claire was the perfect host., great location and fabulous breakfast.

We stayed here for 2 nights and from parking in the bay by the cottage to walking in and Claire introducing us to herself, the house and our room we know we had made the right choice. The room is beautiful, so well laid-out with such wonderful touches as a mini fridge with fresh milk, a range of tea and coffees, even quality biscuits and personal pictures, ornaments and nicnaks. The bed is cosy, warm and has tables either side both with electrical points and lamp, cloths can be hung or places in draws, with areas to put personal items. The bathroom is a true delight, mind your head, and again those wonderful thoughtful items adorned the room. The rolling top bath is divine and comfortable. Breakfast, I have travelled the world, stayed at the top hotels and been entertained by companies who wanted to show me the best they could, and I am telling you this breakfast is up there with those 5-star iconic hotels. This wonderful little gem is amazing, we were so very lucky to have the opportunity to stay and I would suggest you call Claire to ensure she has space, as to go to Long Melford and miss this tranquil, beautiful place, hosted by the most delightful, client focused person is not to be missed. Nothing but 100% satisfaction we had here and we have every intention to return, only calling first for if St Cathrines former school cottage is not free, we will change our schedule to when it is. That’s high praise and deserved.
