Chris und Martha haben dafür gesorgt, dass es uns von Anfang an an nichts gefehlt hat! Die beiden haben uns kurzfristig und sehr herzlich aufgenommen. Wer Service erleben möchte sollte hier einchecken! Wir waren im Studio Amber welches vollumfänglich ausgestattet war. Wir danken für alles!!!

Wir sind ein Pärchen aus Deutschland und waren 14 Tage in der Unterkunft. Schon bei der Anreise waren wir von der Gastfreundschaft von Chris und Martha überwältigt. Die beiden waren während unseres Aufenthalts außerordentlich hilfsbereit, zuvorkommend und jederzeit erreichbar. Die gesamte Unterkunft war zur Zeit unseres Aufenthalts gerade einmal ein halbes Jahr alt, es war alles sehr ordentlich, sehr sauber und die Unterkunft war top ausgestattet. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Unser Apartment war in etwa so sauber, wie man es in einem 5-Sterne Hotel erwartet. Jedes Apartment ist klimatisiert, sodass es selbst bei tropischen Temperaturen binnen weniger Minuten angenehm kühl war. Unser Apartment (und soweit wir das in den anderen Apartment wahrnehmen konnten, diese ebenfalls) war mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Wir waren in der Atlantic Suite und hier drehte sich alles um die Farbe Blau. Jedes Apartment steht sozusagen für eine Farbe, welche den Gastgebern nach jeweils für eine der Azoren-Insel steht. Jedenfalls verfügte das Apartment über blaue Fliesen/blaue Teppiche im Bad/blaue Kissen/… ja sogar die kleinen Zettel, welche man bekommen hat, um die eventuell in der Nacht störende Uhrzeit-Anzeige der Mikrowelle abzukleben, war blau. Wir sind grundsätzlich keine Menschen, die viele Bewertungen oder Kommentare schreiben, aber diese Unterkunft verdient eine 5-Sterne Bewertung in allen Belangen. Gegen Ende unseres Aufenthalts fühlte sich die Unterkunft schon fast wie „Zuhause“ an.

Es gab absolut nichts auszusetzen.

Chris and Martha were incredibly accommodating and, by far, the best hosts I’ve ever had while traveling around the world. They truly went above and beyond to help me. When I asked for facial paper tissues, they went out of their way to purchase them. When I requested hair mousse, they gave me from their personal supply. They didn’t have to do either, yet they went far above and beyond for me. They were also accommodating when I asked for an extra laundry run on my fifth day, even though laundry was scheduled only once every three days. I was a day short of the next service, yet they responded quickly and took care of it. When I asked for the room’s AC to be turned on before my arrival, they gladly complied. They also taped the microwave and air conditioner to reduce visible lights from shining into the room while I was trying to sleep. Chris reached out to me via WhatsApp before I arrived and offered to answer any questions I had about my stay. He answered my questions and gave me many useful suggestions for restaurants and places to go. A pro tip: go to Villa Franca for whale watching. I went with Futurismo on a large boat and didn’t get to see the whales up close. Futurismo also has a small boat where you sit just a foot above the water; had I known about it, I would have taken the smaller boat. The facility was brand‑new and modern, and I enjoyed every aspect of it.

The place is already very good, above the average I could expect from anywhere. The only improvement I could suggest is a way to completely block out all the lights. I was given Post‑it notes to tape over the light on the air conditioner and the microwave, but some light still shines through. Using electrical tape would have been better, as it is thick, blocks light completely, and is peelable leaving no glue residue. This is a practical suggestion. There was also an exit light above the door that emitted a green light, so I hung a jacket over it overnight to block the light. I wish the place offered some form of breakfast, as the other two hotels I stayed at did, which made my trip much easier so I can have breakfast, clean my teeth, then go out to destinations. I understand that Chris and Martha are only operating a couple of rooms in their boutique hotel, and coordinating food options could be logistically difficult.

Everything! Staying at AzoreanStar made our first trip to the Azores absolutely unforgettable. As an extremely picky traveler who spent hours weighing 5-star hotels against Airbnbs, I can confidently say this stay exceeded all expectations—photos and reviews don't even do it justice! Communication with Chris was seamless from start to finish. Upon our early morning arrival, Chris and Marta greeted us like family and even had food waiting for us, which was such a thoughtful touch. The property itself is serene and pristine. The room is spacious, spotlessly clean, bright, and filled with tasteful details reflecting the hosts' care, while the courtyard offers a charming, quiet retreat. After a full day out in nature, returning to such a peaceful, comfortable space was the highlight of our evenings. The bed and sofa were remarkably comfortable, making it feel like a home away from home. The location is unbeatable—just minutes on foot to the beach and centrally located for exploring any where on the island. Thank you, Marta and Chris, for your warmth and hospitality. You have been so patient and accommodating during our stay. No big-name hotel could ever compete with this experience! We highly recommend this stay to anyone looking to make their trip to the Azores complete perfection.
