Delta Hotels by Marriott Calgary Downtown

Great location to many of the downtown business and tourist attractions. Ten minutes walking to the River Walk; 10-20 to many restaurants, Stephen’s St and the light rail system.

Was not obvious if the restaurant was open to breakfast. Found out the next morning, but… I will have breakfast there for my next visit.

We were given a room on the top floor with a view of the city—it was absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for that! Check-in was great: friendly, professional, and warm. The access to the hotel and the parking are excellent. Level 1 of the parking garage is for large cars, which made it easy to park our Chevrolet Suburban. We also really liked the location—close to downtown and with access to the +15. The Delta will be our choice again on our next visit.

Unfortunately, the Shoe & Canoe restaurant didn't have any Canadian wines on the menu, which we found disappointing. In addition, there was a strong draft from the ventilation system at almost every table, which was not very pleasant. On the other hand, they serve an excellent breakfast.

The hotel was easy to get to and the parkade was easy to access. Comfortable beds and pillows.

All the signage in the underground lot indicates to pay for parking there. When I went upstairs to check in, the front desk worker said “no ma’am you should not have done that” and then said he wouldn’t charge me for parking! Like, no kidding as I already paid for parking downstairs. If hotel guests shouldn’t pay for parking, some signage in the actual parkade is needed. Very thin walls make for a noisy night. Cats raced up and down the street all night and we could hear every word our neighbours said. When we checked in, no one told us where the pool was, where breakfast was or at what time.
