Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire

Everything is always great at this hotel. Its our preferred place to stay in Calgary.

The drop off area is always poorly managed. I know the valet attendants do the best they can but there should be zero parking of vehicles up front unless they are unloading or loading in 10 mins.

Location, Gym and Pool

Nothing

The hotel is conveniently located It was the perfect base to explore downtown Calgary The area is very nice (during the day is very lively with nice restaurants) Rooms are large and bed comfy Staff is friendly

Valet parking is quite expensive

We swapped from another hotel to this one because the location was better (next to the park) and the hotel had a better reputation (Sheraton) for a lower price. Overall we were not convinced. Location is the only positive of this hotel in reality.

For this type of hotel the service at reception was disappointing. We arrived too early, fair enough. However making us fill a form and go for a walk (in the rain) while a room was being cleaned and then never actually calling us back until the normal check-in time was really poor. It already put us in a bad mood to begin the stay. The rooms were comfortable, but clearly dated. For instance they have a weird half way between a shower and a tub - it's neither one or the other. The hotel pool is small, very shallow - barely deep enough to swim, and someone had the amazing idea to put a kids slide next to it. Therefore you are trying to swim or have a quiet moment with your wife in the jacuzzi, with lots of kids screaming and running around all the time. Breakfast should be included for the price.
