We loved The Langham from the second we walked in. Warm and cosy lobby, friendly doormen, a swift check-in after a long flight. The room was top, so was breakfast at Grana and the swim in the hotel pool. Premium place in Boston!
Boston was rainy for three days but there were always smiles at The Langham. We could have responded negatively because we were shows a (non-regulated) cab to the Gardner museum which cost us double the price, but we should have reacted to the taxi not having a regular metre, which we didn't ... we were just happy to be in the car (and not in the rain). Breakfast at Grana was really expensive, but hey, location location location... it's what you pay for as well. And what a history!

Outstanding service from every member of staff we encountered. For example, we had left some laundry to be done then our travel plans were upended by the Nor’easter that hit Boston and had to leave at 4 am the next morning. When my wife called the front desk, they arranged to get the laundry back to our room, that night. She had asked that they just return it as is given the last minute change in schedule. When we got to back to our room, the clean laundry was waiting for us.
Not much - maybe include some decaf Nespresso pods in the room

The Langham Boston is a beautiful hotel, very well located, with an elegant atmosphere and excellent surroundings.
Unfortunately, the soundproofing of the rooms is a major issue. I could hear every conversation and movement in the hallway so clearly that it genuinely felt as though people were inside my room. For a hotel of this category and price level, this is simply not acceptable.
A lovely property overall, but the lack of proper sound insulation seriously affected the comfort of the stay. Quite frankly, it was a disaster.
