Hotel Indigo Lower East Side New York by IHG

Very clean, amazing staff, spacious, upto date, great location,

The hotel is very conveniently situated in the most vibrant part of NYC. We got here in the middle of NY fashion week, buzzing with people. Tons of bars, restaurants and shopping on Ludlow street and the area. Nolita and Soho are a comfortable walk away. Great for shopping and food. The subway and buses are around the corner. We got a room with the most gorgeous views on a higher floor. Nice spacious, large room and bathroom.The room had a coffee machine and a comfortable lounge chair. It was wonderful to take in the views. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

The purple club in the hotel and the area get very noisy with music playing late into the night and up to 4 am on week ends. If you are a light sleeper, not a great idea. Though the AC compressor does drown it down a bit. We would have stayed longer had this not been an issue since we are light sleepers.

The bed was comfy. Plenty of receptacles for charging devices. Hardwood floors and all tiled bathroom with high end plumbing fixtures. Nice lighting with dimmers and one switch shuts off all. We wanted to do yoga on the floor so we borrowed a mat from the exercise room. This hotel is very convenient for my family with lots of great food options close by.

You have to pay more for a better view. The rooms are smallish but adequate. I would love an option to put my subscription channels on the television on a temporary basis. The refrigerator is full of overpriced minibar items; Not much room for my leftover takeout.

Overall clean and spacious. The cleaners that work there are super polite and quick. We got a full cleaning done in 25 minutes.

The reception staff is not very helpful. The first shift when we just moved in forgot my requests to bring stuff up to the room (asked for towels once and then for a kettle in person). The system was down when we moved in which is not their fault but they could’ve offered a drink at the bar or literally anything else cause we waited for an hour. The location is terrible. It’s impossible to get out and not be stuck in an unsafe area there. Wasn’t aware of that when booking. That specific block that they’re located on is super sketchy even in the morning. The pool doesn’t have any tanning space and that isn’t listed on booking. It’s just a pool and a sofa for general use of the cafe on the rooftop. We also had flies in the shower! They don’t die even if you spray them with water so we just let them be.
