Downtown Berkeley Inn

This place was spotless clean. The lady at the counter was extremely friendly and its just a couple minutes walk to the UC theater. The AC worked amazing and the shower water was hot.

Had to park on the street but really, that wasn't a big deal.

Great location. Walk to everything. Owner is a wonderful lady.

It's rare to have such a great experience at a budget hotel--the price for this hotel was much more reasonable than the others available at the time, so I didn't expect much. I was happily surprised when there was someone at the desk to meet me after midnight due to my flight delay, who was very friendly, and then the parking was free and the room was very close to where I parked. I could put a do not disturb up and there was zero intrusion to my privacy. I was able to get the air conditioning to make the room exactly how I wanted, the bed was a huge California king, and very comfy. The shower was excellent. There was a menu on the night stand and so I got a sub delivered due to that helpful marketing! An excellent place to stay in Berkeley, great location and value, I will be back!

Location is good, room is spacious enough. Staff was friendly.

The room smelled musky when I arrived even though the windows were open. One window was broken, I asked them if they could fix it, they did so the next day and after that I could no longer open them. The Wi-Fi was terrible. I only got a tiny bit of shower gel and shampoo for a four day stay. Could have probably asked for more, but there is no staff member present most of the time, you have to call and wait.
