PRIVILLAGE Stare - B&B

We had a truly lovely stay at Privillage Stare in Bohinj. The setting is peaceful and beautiful, at the quieter end of Lake Bohinj, where it feels wonderfully removed from the daytime crowds. Breakfast each morning was a pleasure—fresh, generous, and enjoyed with a glimpse of the lake. Just as memorable was the warm atmosphere among the guests. We found ourselves lingering over breakfast, enjoying conversation, and even made new friends from Germany. Jože’s hospitality was exceptional. He generously took the time to help us plan the best driving routes for the remainder of our journey through Slovenia and carefully explained the route for our Seven Lakes hike. His local knowledge and thoughtful guidance added so much to our experience. The lake is an easy walk away, and other guests would head down for an early-morning or evening swim, when this end of the lake was especially quiet and peaceful. Privillage Stare has a wonderful sense of place—beautiful surroundings, genuine hospitality, a lovely breakfast, and an atmosphere that feels warm and personal rather than simply like a hotel stay. We left with very fond memories and would gladly return.

The lack of a lift, but that was just a minor inconvenience

Lack of furniture supports for heavy suitcases, leading to increased clutter in the room.

Location is stunning, short walk to lake and 2 nearby restaurants. Property was clean and well maintained even with ongoing construction. Host and cook were super friendly and helpful. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate our early departure and ensure we had a pleasant stay

En-suite was very small to try and get dried in after showering, shower was plenty big enough but with the sink and toilet there wasn’t much room left. There was also one exposed cable hanging by the balcony door and the chairs on the balcony had broken plastic backs. Overall the location and staff outshine these minor flaws.
