Hagia Sofia Mansions Istanbul, Curio Collection by Hilton

Perfect location. Our room (311) was so lovely! Large room, big comfortabale bed and pillows, big comfy sofa, large bathroom. The room was made up quickly and very well and loved our towel animals every day. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff - and the guys on reception were super helpful. The bellboys who drove us everywhere we wanted to go in the little buggys were really friendly and accomodating. Breakfast was fabulous, so much choice and the staff were great, very attentive, especially the lovely Farbod who just looked after us so well. He remembered the hot drinks we eaach had every day and what omlettes we all had and was super charming. :) Highly recommend.

It might not seem like a big deal to the people who kit out the rooms, but the hairdryer was awful. It was on a short cord so was hard to control, and the type that you have to press the button the whole time for it to stay on, which if you've ever tried to dry long thick hair with one is a real pain. Also it was like a hurricane it was so strong. It was the same as the one in our friends room and to be honest I would expect a better hairdryer these days in a luxury hotel. Maybe a small bugbear but important on holiday! Also there were not enough coathangers - which is always disappointing. I did ask for more but they never arrived. Finally it was a shame there's no where to sit and have a drink if it's cold / raining - which it was when we were there. It would have been nice to sit at the end of the evening at the hotel but we couldn't because of the bad weather and the little bar being outside. There is another bar at the other reception at the other hotel - but we just wanted a nightcap and then to go straight upstairs
