Was looking for a great spot for a long weekend away. This was perfect. The location was amazing. The space was ideal - cozy and comfortable with more than enough space for one or two people.

The property is great and the location is especially cool being in the re-developed former state hospital. Lots to do and see, and good dining options without getting in the car. Absolutely would stay here again.

Our family- myself, husband and our 12 yr. Son stayed here. The place was so cozy. Very nicely decorated. Had plenty of blankets/bedding/ linens. We did not cook but it was well appointed to do so. The pull out bed was comfy for my son. Main bedroom was so pretty with comfy bed. We really enjoyed our stay. I was able to get studying done. The Villages is really a destination. We did not venture much further. Took walks on the paths. Toured the grounds with tour group. We really enjoyed the tour. This is our 3rd time to the villages but was 1st time at this vrbo. We would definitely stay again. Thank you for sharing your place with us Sally.

This was a beautiful unit in a historical building on a bustling campus. There was always something happening during our weekend stay and I was honestly shocked just how quiet the unit was. Because stepping outside the door, you were met with a cacophony of sounds and bustle. Inside, all you hear is the creak of the historic floors and I found it quite charming and reminded me that even though the unit is fully modern and stylish, the history still lingers. It did not disappoint and we WILL be back!
A couple little things to note for those that read the reviews.
1. The sofa sleeper is memory foam. It won't be a life-changing sleep, but it was by far the most comfortable sofa bed I've encountered in my 44 years on Earth. Don't be afraid to make use of it for a few nights if your party requires an extra bed.
2. If you have time, do take one of the many tours offered on the campus. They do an amazing job of explaining the history and settling the nerves of anyone in your party that is a little hesitant about staying in an old asylum/state hospital.
3. If you book this unit (or any on campus) make your dining reservations now. We let it linger a little too long trying to decide and missed some opportunities.
4. Don't be frightened. It was a very peaceful location and the only strange experiences we had was the car hatch opening on its own in the night and the clock radio turning itself on one afternoon. I was more frightened by the restaurant wait times.
Thanks for sharing!

Everything was wonderful!

Unit is very cozy and does not feel small or cramped. Clean, and nicely decorated. Perfect size for a couple. Quiet location with easy parking and access. We've stayed at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons many times, it's a wonderful location with fascinating history, on its own quiet campus but only a couple minutes from Front Street. Highly recommend the location and this unit. We will definitely be back.

We didn’t sleep either night due to rodent noises in the walls/ceiling.

The apartment is just perfect. Perfect location for getting around the tc area and also for exploring the commons. We had the best week on our vacation and coming back to a comfortable apartment each day had a lot to do with it! Would stay again!!!!

Great little condo in the former state hospital development. Very cozy and comfortable condo on the top floor of the building, nicely decorated with good towels and other necessities. The whole complex is fascinating, a mix of neat historical buildings with some great restaurants, coffee shop, winery, brewery and interesting shops, all within a short walk. Check in and out was super easy. Would stay again!

The Grand Traverse Commons location was particularly lovely this year. We walked all over in the spectacular fall colors, walked across the lot to Pepe Nero for dinner, drove 5 minutes to downtown to shop, and drove up to the Old Mission Point lighthouse to hike. Then we sat around and read in warmth while it rained. The condo is 100% enjoyable, quiet and comfortable.

My husband and I really enjoyed this property, and had a great experience! It was quite at night, clean, and had everything we needed for a 5 night stay. It’s in a great location that allows you to see so much within short scenic drives! We would definitely stay again! Sally is a great host too and our check in/out process was a breeze. Thank you so much for a memorable experience, Sally!

We enjoyed our stay at the condo. We took a tour of the property which was very interesting. The campus is really something with restaurants, brewery's and shops. The location is close to downtown Traverse city. The condo itself was very clean and very nicely decorated.

The condo was very nice, nicely appointed. Everything one needed was provided. The only drawback was the parking. There is no assigned parking and because there are a lot of day visitors for shopping or dining it was often difficult to find an open space in either parking lot adjacent to our unit

We absolutely loved staying here. The place is so charming and has everything you could need provided. Plus it’s only a 1.5 mile walk from downtown which was awesome. Sally provided perfect instructions which left us no questions for checking in/out. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Perfectly unique
This is a well decorated and comfortable condo. The location is excellent in regards to the city and fantastic for those interested in the buildings history. A larger bed would have been welcome but wouldn’t stop us from coming back in the future!

Lovely stay
Too tight for 4 people as advertised, but fine for just me. Only drawback was TV screen was rather small & there weren’t many channels available. Also had to pay for 5-night stay, although only stayed for 4.
Everything else was great. Super clean & organized. Essentials were supplied. Nice building.

New Retirees enjoying great location and condo!
Everything about the room was as advertised. No issues with the property throughout the complete stay. Sally was available via text when needed and very responsive in addressing questions (this was our first VRBO experience). This was a great location for supporting day trips (Crystal Mountain, Sleeping Bear Dunes and Mission Point). Within walking distance of Front Street which includes many dining options and lots of shopping. The grounds are full of history and have many trails to explore and enjoy all that nature offers (the changing leaves exceeded expectations). Make sure you eat at Stellas, PepeNero and S2S (excellent restaurants on the grounds). We will definitely be back in the future. Thank you for the great experience.

Beautiful space in a tasty environment
Second year coming to this condo for fall colors. TC delivered, as did the restaurants and the Village. The condo is comfortable, cozy, and mostly quiet. Only drawbacks are squeaky floors and occasional brief noise from the adjacent parking lot. Host is diligent and responsive.

Perfect fall weekend
Excellent all-around! We came to TC for a wedding and this was the perfect spot. The high ceilings, exposed brickwork, creaky hardwood floors and large windows are all beautiful, and this made it the perfect spot to return after traveling around the area. Check-in, parking and communication with the host were all smooth - no issues with any of that stuff. I really appreciated the extras like an iron and ironing board, extra towels, a full set of dishes and cups, etc - very well-appointed! The Commons itself is wonderful and you really could spend the whole time just exploring the grounds, getting coffee, taking a hike, and eating at any of the great restaurants.
