Boston Hotel

The hotel staff were super nice and accommodating. It seems to be a family-run business and I´m always happy to support small and local businesses. The room was comfortable and clean, perfect for a budget traveler like myself. The shared bathroom/shower was not bad given that several other guests also used it - the mornings seemed to be when it was most in demand. It´s centrally located in downtown San Francisco and easily accessible to the Bart and Muni transport systems. I also got to the Caltrain pretty easily; I came into town for a couple days to visit some schools in Silicon Valley. Overall, would recommend it as an easy and inexpensive option for a quick trip.

The surrounding neighborhood was a bit sketchy - not dangerous by any means, but certainly a lot of homeless and street people. If this doesn´t bother you and you´re just looking for a quiet place to sleep and keep your stuff (definitely not a hostel, so no worries about shared locker spaces), then this is a really good option.

Staff were very friendly. The staff buzz you in through two security gates. You aren't issued a key. Considering the guest policy and neighborhood, I understand this procedure. I was promptly admitted without having to wait at the front gate.

The bed was pretty rough. Clean, but uncomfortable.
