Glens Palas Istanbul Nisantasi

It has been a great pleasure and happiness for me to stay at your hotel. I truly appreciated the kindness, cooperation, and warm hospitality of all the hotel staff. I would especially like to mention Muslimani, who has been extremely polite, helpful, and kind throughout my stay. His excellent English and willingness to assist me, always with such courtesy and a warm smile, made my experience even more enjoyable. I am truly grateful for his help on several occasions. I sincerely hope to return to your hotel again in the future. On my next visit, however, I would very much love to find the beautiful outdoor terrace next to the restaurant prepared and available for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Its location is wonderful, and with the beautiful weather in your country, it would be such a delightful place to enjoy a meal. This is possibly our fifth time staying at Glens Palas. I’ll start with the positives. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff are polite and helpful, and the location in Nisantasi is perfect.

Sadly though over the years the restaurant part has been neglected and we have noticed a real decline. The once amazing breakfast has been reduced to a stale buffet with a couple of à la carte options. The bread offered is days old and hard, the cucumbers and cheese were dry. The vibrancy has gone so unless management choose to revert their restaurant choose I wouldn’t recommend including breakfast if you stay here. There are plenty of choices nearby if you know where to look. Turkish breakfast is an important culturally, so my Turkish wife and I were surprised at how Glens have now decided to treat it. Was this our last time staying at a hotel we considered home when in Istanbul? We will have to think about it in a couple of months. Perhaps this will be our chance to try other options around the area. What a shame!
