Close to gubei water town, delicious breakfast, lady host was extremely helpful. We were stranded at gubei around 11pm and couldnt book any taxi back. We contacted the host for help and she woke up her neighbour to come pick us up. She also helped to arrange for a large taxi back to the airport. Highly recommended!
It can be a bit noisy in the morning as there are motor sounds or loudspeaker sound from roaming merchants. Just close the windows when you sleep and it shouldnt be a problem.

Nice house, big rooms. Quite place.
If you visit Gubei Water Town and Great Wall section, I wouldn't prefer this house-better to stay inside the Gubei hotels. It is about 5 minute with taxi to reach Gubei Water Town, but return from the Town to Simatai village is pain.
The toilet is also open type in rooms which is awkward and strange.

The property was beautiful and quiet. Food in the area was good and less expensive than Gubei. A short and easy taxi ride to Simatai wall entrance. We wished we stayed one more night.
