Emerald Isle vote the #1 beach in NC by USA Today 2018! Oceanfront living just doesn't get any better than this. The beach is right outside your door. Walkway straight from your deck, to the white sandy beach. There is always a nice summer breeze that keeps you comfortable when having fun in the sun. We have a new solar heated outdoor shower for 2021. There are beach umbrellas, boogie boards, noodles, pails and shovels to keep you busy if you want to be active. A Bocci set and/or a frisbie if you want to take it up a notch. Others like relaxing on the deck, sitting in the new 'rockers' 2021, under the shade of the overhang and watching the pelicans fly by or see the dolphins hanging out. During turtle season, you may even see a loggerhead. See the unobstructed view of the stars at night. Enjoy our fully stocked kitchen. We even have complimentary k-cups, Hot Chocolate, and tea for your arrival, to get you by until you make your grocery run. Do you like to grill at the beach? We have a gas grill all ready for your world famous burgers. We have board games, card games and books to satisfy the kid in anybody. Pirate stories, lighthouse books, shells and more, Direct Tv throughout! Of course we are dog friendly so we have the pooch covered too. Dog bowl, toys, and need we say more, a good supply of doggie pick up bags. Inside when you retire for the evening, the Master welcomes you with a brand new June 2016 queen pillow top mattress and it's own bath. The other bedrooms have brand new 2016 queen and 2 doubles. So we have sleeping arrangements that you need to make Papa Bear, Mama Bear, and the other bears rested and happy. Truly a story book setting, but you supply the story line and ending. Sunrises are beautiful and sunsets are breathtaking...Enjoy!

There's something really special about having your own walk way to the beach. The weather wasn't perfect in March but it was nice to watch the larger than normal waves from the comfort of the couch! Great stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was clean, bright and had everything we needed. Walk out the door and your on the beach! Barry was very thorough in communicating. I highly recommend this wonderful home.

This was our second stay at Barry's beach house on Emerald Isle. We can't say enough positive things abut it.
The location can't be beat...just steps from the beach. Although we stayed in February, which isn't considered beach weather, we enjoyed our morning tea/coffee inside while enjoying the ocean view. The beach was perfect for walking throughout the day, not crowded this time of year and so peaceful.
Barry has thought of everything as far as amenities. We didn't do much cooking, but he is fairly well stocked with dishes, cookware, etc for what we did need.
The house is very nice and was clean and comfortable. We needed a relaxing week and that's just what we got.We hope to return next year.

This is the most amazing cottage on the beach! It is so cozy and perfect. We have stayed here multiple times and are so happy every time! It has everything you could possible need or want. We will be staying here again! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Barry has thought of absolutely everything to make sure his guests have a 5-star vacation. The property is extremely clean, inviting, cozy and well maintained. From the light switches to the remotes, all are labeled with helpful and clear instructions. Check-in and checkout were made very easy by the host. We loved being directly oceanfront. The location was great for short trips to grocery stores, surf shops, museums, antique shops and local artisans. We hope to get to stay at Seahorse again soon. Thank you Barry!

My wife, son, and I stayed at this beautiful beach house the first week of October 2023 and had the best time!
Everything was perfect from start to finish. Barry could not have been a better host. We fell in love with the wonderful porch and the cozy atmosphere overall. Thank you so much for allowing us to rent your awesome house!

The weather was absolutely perfect for Labor Day week! The home was clean, comfortable and ideal for our family. The dogs enjoyed the stay as well! Barry was very prompt and over accommodating with everything. One of the best homes we’ve stayed in and will definitely be returning ;)

This lovely home is super clean. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets extremely soft. There were plenty of pillows on all the beds. The kitchen is very well stocked. The best part, obviously, is the location. It looks EXACTLY as it is depicted; right on the beach. We had three gorgeous days on the beach, the water was crystal clear and the warmest I've ever felt. Unfortunately, we left on Wednesday morning due to Idalia. I have no experience with tropical storms/hurricanes. I spoke with a few home owners Tuesday afternoon on the beach and they said they were leaving; that was my decision maker. I would 100% stay here again. Barry is an excellent host and very responsive.

Barry thought of everything to make our stay a pleasant one. From beach equipment to starter soaps and paper products, the house was well appointed. The oceanfront deck was breezy and a great shady spot with plenty of seating. Comfy house in a great location!

Cute, nicely decorated cottage on the beach. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need including a full assortment of spices/herbs and nice plates/glassware. Communication with owner was very quick and easy. Location is an ideal spot as its pretty much equidistant to go into Emerald Isle shops/restaurants, as well as Atlantic Beach. Nice quiet neighborhood to walk your dog or ride a bike. Beautiful view from deck, especially if you are sitting on the rocking chairs. Tons of beach chairs and boogie boards available. Very comfortable beds and pillows! Quick and easy access to the beachfront right outside the back door. My one recommendation to the owner is to consider switching out the shorter rectangle wicker table with some bar height polywood chairs for additional views of the ocean. Thanks for a great stay.

The house is just as advertised. Easy to access the beach and relax in the quiet. House is very clean, well maintained, and stocked with essentials. We appreciated the ease of charging stations and the pantry space in the kitchen. Great spaces for card games and outdoor meals as well. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a great time. The house was convenient to everything. Kitchen had all the necessities. There were chairs, boogie boards and everything needed for hanging out on the beach. Barry was great to communicate with. All we needed was a couple more weeks there!

Everything about our stay from start to finish was truly amazing. Barry is extremely responsive and the amenities he provides for the property are second to none. We enjoyed the quite peaceful days on the beach with the section of the island being very quiet and a little more secluded from the busier sections closer to the point and Indian Beach. Our Golden loves the beach and it was great having a closer in deck for him to dry out and relax on after the long sandy days at the beach. We’ve already booked our stay for 2024 and can’t wait to go back!

This is our second time staying at east Seahorse, it’s our home away from home. We live on the porch!! That’s our favorite. Barry is the perfect host! If you have a problem he is Johnny on the spot. We absolutely loved our stay. The house was great, check in was a breeze, everything was clean and ready for us. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you need to cook meals. We loved the location and how close it was to the beach. The back deck is lovely and had plenty of chairs and everything you you need for a day on the beach. The bathrooms are small, but are fine for a temporary stay.

This was our 3rd year staying at Seahorse East. We could not enjoy the beach because the sand dunes were so steep you could barley get down to the ocean. Bring 70 years old, I only tried it twice. Could not see over the dunes from the deck. We had scheduled next year, but cancelled it. We will not be coming back to Emerald Isle.

Our group, including an elderly person, enjoyed our 1st time stay in this beachfront house, which has been well maintained with upgrades as previously described in other posts. Clean! We enjoyed the ability to take our well behaved dog.From an elderly perspective, she enjoyed the 10 steps to enter (small landing so be careful with the door), toilet was a bit low in washer/dryer BR, but manageable, and her favorite spot (where she would sleep if we let her) was on the deck enjoying everything in those very comfortable rockers (with full cushions). She adored the views (despite inability to see the actual shoreline unless going onto the elevated walkway - likely a consequence of minimizing the number of entry steps). Going to the beach it self proved to be easier using the very close public access area for her as the sand path was wider and less steep. Despite the sustained & gusty wind, the very clean beach sand didn't result in dermabrasion! Even when it rained, the covered porch enabled her to enjoy outside. With her two wall suction hand supports we took for the shower, she was able to safely shower as it was too small for a sit down shower chair. We prepared several meals. The beds are decorated with a lot of pillows and the mattresses in 2 of the 3 rooms are very very very soft and flex. Parking was adequate and despite my fears of the street flooding (lots of signage about such) during one day of 2-4 inches of rain - it wasn't an issue - county staff reassuring. TY :)

I could tell from the initial communication that Barry was an excellent host. From the moment we opened the front door (a delightful fragrance welcomed us!) to the close of that door, our stay resembled the saying “a Southern part of heaven”. EVERYTHING we needed was provided from the fully-stocked kitchen to the bedrooms’ wooden hanging rack to the porch/beach supplies. My favorite space was the ocean-view porch with the 4 very comfortable rocker chairs covered with perfect cushions. We used the large crank-up umbrella that covers the exposed area of the porch… couldn’t ask for more than this! I have NEVER been this relaxed at the beach. And yes, the April weather was perfect for sitting on the beach, which is as close as can be allowed :-). Thank you, Barry, for opening up your cozy cottage to us. We will return.

Barry provided an exceptionally well furnished cozy beachfront vacation cottage. The furniture, beds, linens and towels are perfect! Also provided are a numerous amount and variety of beach chairs, umbrella, and sand toys. Plus games, puzzles, dog bowls. The decor is well done along with being quite comfortable.
Our family of 5 adults and our lab had an absolutely lovely week. Several days of watching the dolphins play, pelicans dive for fish and shelling along this beautiful beach were just a few highlights.
We very much look forward to renting this gem of cottage again!

What a gem of a property right on the ocean, surf sounds included! The view is awesome! The property was perfect for us, and included a weekend visit with family. It is clean, with a well equipped kitchen. The towels and linens were crisp and clean. The showers are tiny, yet adequate. The deck is wonderful with the best rockers. The local restaurants are a short direct drive in either direction, and were quite good.
We hope to return soon. It was a much needed cure for our local gray weather.

Staying at Seahorse East was a magical experience! The location is just close enough to enjoy the tourist options without wasting too much time on the road and far enough away to enjoy a less populated beach! Having waves right out your back door was amazing. The linens, towels, and overall accommodations were impeccable! I felt like I was right at home and Barry was a blessing of a host! 5 STARS!

We just loved the beach cottage at Emerald Isle! We felt like we were always on the beach even from the warmth of inside because we could always see the waves! Everything we could possibly ask for was included - beautiful decor, kitchen cookware dishes even pantry items, lovely comfortable furniture, and sunrises and sunsets to die for! We’ll be back for sure. Super hard to go home when the week was over. ☀️

This property is one of the best I've ever stayed at. The communication of the property manager was outstanding. We had an issue with the coffee maker and had a new one within the hour!!! The property is a duplex and very nicely maintained. I HIGHLY recommend staying here! We saw dolphins from the porch 2 days in a row. Will stay here again.

I can’t say enough good things about this property: clean, steps from the beach, friendly owners with great communication who update the house regularly and put attention into the details of decorating. They stock the place with everything you could possibly need so packing is minimal. Our family stays here each year… if we lived closer it would certainly be more frequent. We’re grateful to have this home away from home.
