I don't even know where to begin. I've been to San Francisco countless times but have always stayed in hotels, typically around Nob Hill/Union Square. This was our first time taking our kids with us (boys ages 11 and 15). Dede's home gave us an authentic San Fran living experience. Her home is so comfortable and beautifully appointed. The beds were all comfortable (and we're all "bed snobs" with low expectations once we leave our home). The master bathroom was beautiful, though our younger son who still enjoys baths loved the clawfoot tub in the upstairs bathroom. Dede goes out of her way to introduce you to the property and all of it's old quirks and to communicate about current events in the city. Our 15-year old practically lived on the rooftop deck and loved the independence of running down to the bodega on the same block for snacks, or going just up the hill a block to enjoy the dog park, or down the hill 2 blocks to the beach and cable car turnaround. Our younger son was so excited to be able to walk to Ghirardelli Square to get late-night hot chocolates (open until 11). Dede's house is practically connected to Ghirardelli Square - that's how close it is. The house was super close to cable cars as well as other public transportation, which we relied on most of the time. However, we also appreciated that Dede had a parking spot in a garage just a few blocks away that we could use, because we did have a rental car that we used for some day trips. Thanks Dede!

Overall a lovely experience. Located very close to the water and convenient to most anything one needs - bikes ,food,drinks,transportation and views. Rooftop deck has a great view of the water and Alcatraz. The house itself is very comfortable and DeDe is responsive & accommodating.

This was a great place to stay, was right near Ghirardelli Square and the wharf. Dede was an excellent host; she was very responsive to any questions we had. We would definitely stay here if we come back to San Francisco!

My family and I stayed at Dede’s property when we were in town dropping a child off for her first year of college. Dede’s place was lovely, clean and a welcome home base as we got our daughter settled into her new life. We were walking distance to lots of great restaurants and attractions and the included parking made it easy for us to get in and out over the few days that we were there. Dede met us at the property when we first arrived to show us around and was available via text throughout our stay. We will definitely look forward to staying here again when we are in town in the future.

Love the city! Dede shared her beautiful home with us in a perfect location! The roof deck was amazing to see the city. It was fabulous and we enjoyed it at night as well. We walked everywhere. It was amazing to us country folks to get where we needed to go without a vehicle. If we wanted to go far we got an Uber. We did the Love Bus tour, Segway tour in Golden Gate Park, ate the most amazing pizza at Tony’s in little Italy, enjoyed Pier 39 and Fisherman’s Wharf, walked down to Ghirardelli’s square and had sundaes at night! We canceled a hotel reservation and reserved DD‘s place and we are so glad we did. He gave our family money of space to spread out and was super convenient for the few days we were visiting San Francisco for the Escape from Alcatraz triathlon. Everything was super clean and we were able to check in early which was nice because our flight got in mid day. The beds in the second bedroom are small, perfect for young kids, but you may want to consider that if a full-size human will be sleeping in them. Deedee was super helpful and we would definitely recommend this rental.

My husband and I took our kids (12 & 9 years old) to San Francisco for the first time. Dede’s place was so perfect for us! Walking distance to buses, cable cars, Fisherman’s Wharf, and more! We didn’t get to meet Dede in person because we were later to arrive than planned, but she was still so helpful when we got there, and very accommodating. Thank you, Dede, for making our stay so comfortable! We will definitely be back!

Dede is a dream host that walks you through the property when you arrive. The property is charming, spacious enough for a family of 5 and in a perfect location to do most anything you want in SF by walking! I will rent again next I go to San Francisco!

I came down for a long weekend with my husband and two kids (6 yrs, 9 yrs). This was the perfect launching spot for our adventures in the Bay — the kids loved the new park a block away even more than Ghirardelli. Dede was a great host and made sure we were taken care of. The only thing that was hard for us as a family that normally lives in a quiet suburban neighborhood was the difference trying to sleep in the heart of the city. It takes awhile for the city to quiet down (much after our kids bedtimes) and the lights in the windows while we tried to sleep from cars cruising down the street surprised me a few times that first night. A sound machine helped and tiring the kids out walking all day, so we all slept better after the first night of adjustment. Not a comment on Dede’s lovely apartment but more a heads up for other non-city dwellers to prepare for.

We loved our time at Dede's. There is an enclosed garage which helped with safety and security. The house is fantastic. I wish we got to take more advantage of the rooftop, the weather was just a little cold to enjoy it. Dede bends over backwards to make sure you have everything you need to settle in and really wants you to make the place your own while you are there. I can't recommend this highly enough. You could walk to fisherman's wharf, all the other areas are reasonable drives. We did not do public transportation while we were there so I can't say how easy that would have been.

We stayed here as part of a wedding week trip to SF! Plenty of room, great living space, and the roof top deck is perfect! We enjoyed morning coffee and afternoon happy hour up there every day! Very close to everything wharf related, and a short Uber to everything else!! The locked parking garage was a huge help. Dedes art is also around the home which we enjoyed! She was very responsive and a warm goat!

I stayed here for a work event with a co-worker and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The home was perfect for our needs. Very comfortable layout and also in a fantastic location. It was great to walk out the front door and see the bay and Ghirardelli square. Will stay again.

Dede's home is so close to Ghirardelli Square you can almost smell the hot fudge! The location has excellent walk-abilty- close to many of San Francisco's best attractions. The home itself was very comfortable for our family of 4 adults. Well stocked, very clean, and has the most beautiful view of the wharf from the top deck. Dede is a wonderful host-meeting us at arrival and answering any questions we may have had. We loved our short stay and are looking forward to returning in the future. If I were ever to be reincarnated as a town house, I would want to be this one. Dede takes great care of the house and was very welcoming. We came to spend time with our family, and it was wonderful to have the chance to relax together. The rooftop deck view is amazing. We will be returning here in the future to see our family. Fantastic location right by Ghirardelli and Fisherman's Wharf. Really easy to walk around or get Muni/trolleys anywhere you want to go. Beautiful old house with nice modern updates. Spiral staircase down to the bedrooms was a bit rough to manage a family's worth of suitcases but not a big deal. Easily slept our family of 5 comfortably. Dede was super helpful. Tons of communication and very clear directions. Has a parking spot too which was a huge bonus for us on our family road trip. Parked in the garage and just walked and took transit the whole time. Everything was really clean and organized, very easy and comfortable all around. Will definitely stay again if we are ever in SF. Highly recommend!

Absolutely outstanding property. Perfect location next to Ghirardelli Square. Owner was fantastic to work with. It was a three year process to finally get to SanFrancisco from the Midwest due to COVID but the owner helped us every step of the way. Our best VRBO experience to date and we have done over a dozen stays all across the country.

My girlfriends and I were in San Francisco for a work convention, and Dede's property was perfect! Within walking distance to Ghirardelli Square, Fisherman's Wharf, a beautiful park, and much more. The rooftop deck was amazing! A gorgeous view of the Bay (with Alcatraz in the distance) made it the perfect place to enjoy the San Francisco weather and unwind. Dede is a phenomenal host - responds almost immediately to messages and overall very helpful. I highly recommend this property to either friends or families travelling to the San Francisco area.
