Charming Riverfront Cottage with stunning views of the Susquehanna River
About this house rental
Relax in this quaint cottage that sits directly on the Susquehanna River with amazing views of the river, mountains and sunsets! Step back into a simpler time and enter the beauty and charm of this two story house featuring a large wrap around deck from which you can watch eagles fly over the river. Walk right down to the water's edge and enjoy the river from our dock (dock is available in warmer months only). Fish from the shore, or use one of our 6 kayaks to explore the Susquehanna and it's lush islands. The house features 2 private bedrooms and 2 large open loft areas which offer multiple beds for our guests (please see bedroom descriptions below for complete overview). The house features two bathrooms, one with a tub/shower combo and the other with a shower. Split System Air Conditioning/Heating units have been added throughout the house for our guest's comfort. Outside offers a concrete patio making it easy to spend time near the river. The dining room has a large table that seats 10, and has a breakfast bar that seats three, all while providing stunning views of the river. The house is easy to get to - just off of 22/322 in Dauphin, within a short driving distance of all Central PA attractions (Downtown Harrisburg, Hershey Park, Gettysburg, Lancaster, etc.). Convenient location in Central PA makes a perfect spot to meet friends and relatives from surrounding states. Only 25 minutes from the Harrisburg International Airport. Uber services are available in our area in case you wish to leave your car at home. MILITARY DISCOUNT OFFERED - to active duty, reservists and retirees. Please ask for more details.

This is a very neat house and property that feels secluded even though there are major roads close by. We were graciously accommodated on several levels by our awesome host, Pam! Thank you for helping our family make memories!

We've stayed here multiple times and every trip is fantastic. We bring a large group of people for the GAOS show and the space allows us to gather for meals, hang out on the deck together, and enjoy the beauty of the river as it flows by. Pam is a fantastic host and we're always looking forward to our next visit.

We had a great time enjoying the river views while reminiscing around the dining room table. The rental was very clean and comfortable with plenty tons of amenities. Definitely would consider booking another stay here at this location!!

Three families came together here to celebrate Thanksgiving, 2023. The kitchen and dining areas were perfect for our large group. The bedroom situation is definitely for families/friends who are used to having sleepovers (open loft, not much privacy for some) and the beds were not the most comfortable- but it all worked well for us! We lucked out with the weather and got to enjoy the beautiful porches, bikes and boats too. A great place!

2nd time staying at the house. Owners have it prepared well with everything you need. Beautiful view of the river. Came back to the house one night and found deer having a late night snack in the yard. Saw a bald eagle dive in the river for his lunch and we were able to watch it eat on the rocks in the river using the owner supplied binoculars.

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage! The house was well supplied, very clean, and comfortable. We had everything we needed for a nice stay. River views are beautiful! We especially enjoyed the gorgeous dining table with a wonderful view of the Susquehanna. The owners were great and easy to communicate with. Our group enjoyed the kayaks and had campfires by the river at night. What was unexpected in such a beautiful place was the sound. Unfortunately we could hear Rt. 22 and/or 322 from the front side of the house and the train sound from across the river in the back. We didn't expect the loudness as we sat by the fire. Other than that the property was very enjoyable.

Loved the location. It is only 15 minutes from the Harrisburg yet it looked like miles away in the countryside. Good parking, enough beds for 10 people. We spent lots of time outside in the porch, just looking out the river and the mountains. We even took the kayaks to the river. I highly recommend. The owners were easy to reach and helpful.

Pam and Mike are amazing hosts - I can’t rave enough about them. The house is right on the river with an amazing view of the river. We fit 8+ adults in the house with no problems at all. We had a small wedding there and everyone had an amazing time. We can’t wait to come back.

We truly enjoyed our stay in Dauphin. The pictures on the vrbo site are very accurate. Mike came over to greet us, and was always just a phone call away if we had a question. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio and sitting by the fire, watching kayakers and boats sail by. Sunday was rainy, which enabled us to sit inside by the cozy fireplace. Thank you, Mike and Pam!

Cozy and quiet lots of outdoor space we really loved the river the house was rustic witch we all loved the porch was nice in the morning but wish it was screened in so we could of used it at night we tryed to use the porch at night with the lights on the bugs were just to much so we had to go in other then that it was a great stay

The home was well stocked with anything that you may need! The owners were friendly and even brought us some fresh eggs! There were a lot of bugs in the windows and porch area. The river is very shallow in this location which may or may not be what you are looking for. Overall, we had a positive experience.

Property was exactly as advertised. Owner was extremely responsible when we contacted her about a couple of minor issues. We kayaked and hung out on the dock, patio and porch. Peaceful and serene.

There were 11 in our group. The home was perfect for a large group. It has everything you will need. Out door space was great. The kids enjoyed fishing from the shore and tubbing on the river. Close to attractions. Hosts were very responsive and the dozen eggs they brought over our first day was much appreciated. Definitely would reccomend this home. It must be great in the fall. Sitting on the porch looking at the fall foliage.

We reserved this wonderful place to have our annual family reunion for the 4th of July. It was perfect for our group of about 30 - about half kids. Grassy area for games, running and playing, relaxing. Only 3 stayed at the place. There was plenty of seating indoors, on the deck, on the cement patio, in the swings and down by the dock. The kids loved getting in the water and it was shallow enough for the little ones near the shore and only was a little deeper quite a ways out. The recommendation to wear water shoes should be heeded. The provided grill worked well and was clean.
Lots of flatware, dishes and serving items for our crowd. We had a couple special requests that received immediate responses. We had a wonderful time and are booked for next year.

Well located on the Susquehanna with dock and water access. Beautiful view of hills and river from large wrap around porch. Cabin was uniquely rustic and moderately up to date with all the necessary conveniences. Family meals were wonderfully shared at the large dining room table. Kitchen, though petite allowed for multiple people to work at one time. Upstairs lofts were comfortable and efficient. For smaller children, it would be less worry for the loft walls to be more enclosed. Plenty of amenities from bikes, tubes, kayaks, swings gathering areas, fire pit, and space for games like bean bags and badminton. If stuck inside due to weather, plenty of room for 8 to lounge and gather indoors. Our hosts were attentive, available, without infringing on our privacy. I could see socializing with them outside of business. They provided all the necessities for our stay. Including fresh chicken eggs for our breakfast. Awesome couple. We would definitely book there the next time we come to the area. This trip took us to Gettysburg, Hershey, and Baltimore. Couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay!

You MUST be a nature lover to stay at this cabin!! NOT THE CRUEY's FAULT!!! The river, the snakes and bugs.....but you have an awesome time watching your group thoroughly enjoy themselves in the great outdoors!! Tons to do. Many spots for relaxation!

We stayed at this lovely river property before, during and after our wedding. It was a nice place for the bridal party to stay the night before, a wonderful gathering place for out of town guest and an amazing place to wake up as a newly married couple. We are already looking for reasons to go back.

We feel like we struck gold booking this listing! The cabin has plenty of room to comfortably gather and the view of the river was stunning all hours of the day. The very best thing about the cabin is the stunning view of the river from the dining room and and porch.
Everything was very clean and comfortable. Plenty of room for us to hang out and play music. The kitchen had everything we needed (though we didn't cook much). The gas fireplace was very welcome during the chilly November evenings.
We enjoyed a little excursion to Ft. Hunter & would suggest that if you are interested in history.
All in all, a wonderful place to stay for a weekend getaway with friends.
