Nestled right next to the beautiful 3,394 acres of forests and wetlands of Black Moshannon State Park, Moshannon Lodge is quiet qetaway for you, your family and friends. If you love to Hike, hunt, kayak, fish, snowmobile, cross country skiing, or explore nature this is the place for you. The Black Moshannon Lodge was a beautiful and rustic place that we absolutely loved! It was a spacious, yet cozy lodge, and the fireplace really put out some heat. We were surprised about how big it was as well! We will definitely be staying there again in the future!

We had a wonderful time. They have lots of bedding, towels, etc. Kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals and is a nice size. Lots of space for activities and relaxing. Can't go wrong with this property.

We had a group of 6 and we just loved it. The area is so beautiful and there’s so much to do. We spent the one day just relaxing at the cabin because it was so nice there.

Cabin was better then we expected, very spacious and the Christmas decorations were an added bonus. Only 25 minutes from Beaver Stadium, we will definitely keep this place in mind for future road trips.

This is the PERFECT location for you (out of state) to take your Penn State kid and his/hers friends for a weekend getaway.
Its about a 30-minute drive from PS, and has no internet (great to connect nowadays), lots of trails, water, kayaks, hot-tup, great sky, lots of space to play and others.
As per my kid and friends' comments, they had a weekend to remember in this place and for sure we will be back!

We were in town for the Penn State White out, the lodging was about 30 minutes away. The accomodations were clean and too much room for the 3 of us. We didn't take advantage of the trails nearby, fire pit, or hot tub but everything was in great shape.

Rustic lodge cabin in a fantastic location to enjoy the Park and with quick access to campus. This is as our second trip and we will be back.

Rustic with a lot of conveniences like a dishwasher, microwave, etc. Nice to have a hot tub to smooth those muscles after hiking, biking and kayaking!
There’s a state park trail out past the fire ring that takes you to the lake where the kayak is moored. I’d say it’s at least a mile. Good to get the park map of the trails and explore! The state park pontoon ride is great, too. A naturalist tells you about the beaver, etc. as you cruise the lake.

We stopped camping last fall and wanted to spent time w extended family camping at black moshannon state park. Close to park and beach. Log cabin is very spacious. Enjoyed hot tub in evening for some quiet time. Beds are comfortable. No cell service, but we were OK w that. We would definitely recommend.

We all enjoyed the location and everything was very well cleaned and organized . We plan on definitely making reservations there again .

The cabin was great. Very clean and spacious. We enjoyed grilling on the back porch and throwing a football in the yard. We were able to have a few family members who live locally over for dinner. Lorie was very accommodating.

We rented the property for a wedding party for our friends and family after we got married. It was so nice! Everyone was commenting on how nice it is! It was very clean and the check in and check out was so easy!

This is the second time we have rented the Black Moshannon Lodge for a bachelorette weekend, and it did not disappoint. The check-in process was extremely easy and the property was exactly as described. We had a great and memorable girls weekend.

We stay here every year for winter camping. Friends rent cabins on the park and we gather at the lodge for meals and games. Love the large table. Kids love the hot tub! Great space!

Amazing, spacious but cozy getaway. Right at edge of park! No phone or Internet service- which for us was a welcome respite. Landline in cabin for local calls was helpful. We also gave that number to anyone who might need to get in touch with us. Place was neat and well kept. Host was friendly and fixed the fireplace for us (turns out it just needed a new battery in remote). One glitch we did encounter was that there was a paper in the cabin which indicated a later checkout time. This caused some confusion, and we feel terrible that we stayed later than we were supposed to.
Overall great experience and we'd be happy to go again!

We had planned on outdoor ice skating at Black Monshannon State Park. Due to the weather, there was no ice. Our group of nine enjoyed the hot tub, board games, and when we were ready to skate we headed to the arena in Altoona, about 40 minutes away. The lodge was exactly what we needed and we enjoyed the weekend because of the lodge.

This was a great cabin for our 2 families (6 kids, 4 adults). Plenty of space and amenities. The only thing that would’ve helped us is a 2nd queen bedroom and maybe a bunk/trundle instead of the single twin. We would be interested in returning!
