We had a wonderful weekend. 28 of us from around the country played in the yard, rocked on the porches, prepared meals, caught up with each other’s lives. Plenty of room for group activities, lots of comfy seating, enough bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen. The kids enjoyed the loft sleeping, adults the comfy bedrooms. The goats were a bonus. Perfect for our family ages 8 to 71!

Our week at Maple Fork Lodge was amazing. Very relaxing with plenty of room for all the family to stay. We had 27 in total stay the week. The kids loved the yard, goats and games. Chuck and Connie were great in the booking process with answering any questions quickly. Richard the care taker was friendly and very helpful. I think we all fell in love with Marley too. She is such a sweet old dog. We definitely are thinking about coming back.

The house and property were well cared for. The amenities they promised were there - in our case, baby hates and booster seats. There was an indoor dining table that would accommodate ten people and several outdoor areas with rocking chairs, a swing, comfortable lounge chairs, a round table with four chairs, and a fire pit. There was a grill adjacent to the kitchen that would cook hamburgers and hotdogs, but there was no large outdoor table. The peacefulness of the woods and fields provided the rest and relaxation we desired. Several of us took advantage of the dock at the one pond and hiked the trails. The goats were of constant interest, escaping from their fenced-in area one day, to the delight of everyone. The primary complaint had to do with the air conditioning. The unit was not set up to accommodate so many different areas. The master bedroom/bath and the study, first floor bathroom were too cold, and when the thermostats were adjusted to suit those on the first floor, the bedrooms and bath upstairs were too warm. The caretaker was pleasant and cooperative, calling the owners and a repairman, but the problem was not remedied during our stay. There’s one other point that the advertising for the house might mention: there are elk, moose, and deer heads mounted on the walls, as well as a fox skin. The biggest surprise for us was the full sized black bear stuffed and standing in one corner. We were anxious about the reaction to the bear of the toddler who was with us, but the small dog was the first to object. He was ready to take on the “intruder.” We ended up carefully placing a coverlet over the bear so that the little dog could get some rest.

We loved it here. We were most impressed by the fully stocked kitchen! It had everything we could need. We enjoyed s’mores by the fire pit, the fishing was fun on both of the stocked ponds and the kids really enjoyed the rope swing! I was personally a fan of the soaking tub after a long day white water rafting. I would recommend staying at this place. It’s conveniently located to adventure and the “coolest small town” Fayetteville and it’s just a super cozy cabin despite its massive size which suited our four different families at once perfectly! Thanks so much!

With all the things going on our world this year, these few days in Mt. Hope was exactly what our family needed. We enjoyed time together, hiked, had a bonfire in the evening and had an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving. Marley was the sweetest non-human in the house. Thank you for this time away from home and making it great.

We stayed in this property Oct 20' an absolutely loved it. The house had all the charm we were hoping for and was very well stocked for our cooking and activity needs. It even came with the most adorable old lady dogo, Marley. Thanks for letting us stay at your VRBO!

The House and Property were exactly suited to our lifestyle, we have a large very active family. There was plenty of privacy and space for everyone, the kitchen accommodated us perfectly, and there was no lack of things to do for us all! The property was clean, beautiful and full of fun things to keep our entire family busy together. The ponds, the rope to swing out over the water, the canoes, fishing, the goats, the playset for the little ones, trails, and a large wrap around deck that faced the fire pit for relaxing in the evening together. My family loved our stay and will always remember this trip and cherish the memories!! I also personally enjoyed getting to know the family through the home decor, library, piano, and overall comfort of the cabin. A bonus was the sweetest Welcoming committee, A dog named Marley who was waiting for us, tail wagging when we arrived:-) she continued to be our little buddy the entire time, So cute!! The little Ones loved her!! The management was so very kind and made sure we were all happy and they were readily available if we needed anything at all. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!~

After several months hunkering at home in 2020, we planned our escape for a week’s vacation with friends to a remote location (having quarantined and got tested prior to arrival). Our group consisted of 4 families from 2 metro areas who met primarily to play irish music together. The cabin and location reminded us all of Ireland, and we felt right at home. We had lots of room for our families to spread out and have privacy. The great room and back porch became our favorite spots to sit and play music. The piano was never silent! The ponds were an added bonus with fishing kayaking and swimming becoming a daily event for all. The goats, dogs and puppies kept all entertained. Chuck and Connie were very helpful during booking times and are blessed to have an amazing property manager. Richard was extremely responsive, and personable, and fit right into our session with his guitar and songs! He and his family were extremely kind, thank you so much again. We appreciated this amazing haven which rejuvenated our musical souls in such an uncertain time. We will definitely revisit the property in the future, hopefully with a larger group of our students for a music exchange between the two groups. Thanks again for sharing your home with us.

We had an incredible trip and the cabin was exactly the space we needed for our church youth group! The cabin was very spacious, and the kitchen was well stocked with items needed for cooking in with a large group. The host was extremely helpful with any needs we had! Very clean and had a great cozy cabin feel. We will definitely stay here again!

This is an amazing house. There was plenty of room for all 19 of us Seems like the kitchen gathering area was the most used, of course. There was plenty of seating and the kitchen layout was great for multiple cooks/dishwashers. We had everything we needed to build a Thanksgiving feast. We made plenty of use of the whole property. Fished a little, Hiked. And loved the fire pit. We took plenty of hikes, too, in the nearby national forest. Would recommend Kaymoor Miners Trail... 800-some steps down to an abandoned mine. And then, back up. Made several rock climbing trips, too. Best climbing anywhere! Everybody fell in love with Marley.

Accommodated many people very well. Had a lot of space and several things on the property outside to do. The process of booking the place was smooth. The owner very polite. The place was clean, however I’m a clean freak so little things like under the couches could be improved. But my cleaning standards are extremely high so I’m sure others would not blink an eye at it. The area the place is located in is not what I envisioned. There are several run down trailers on the way there but once you’re in the property, you’re away from that. There was plenty of wood for a fire and the pond is beautiful. There is a lot of opportunity for nice family photos backgrounds. Overall I’d definitely recommend others to go.

We rented the lodge for a large group, with multiple families. The place is excellent, plenty of room, well stocked with supplies, especially the kitchen. We were able to cook large meals and enjoyed doing it in the well stocked kitchen. The weather was beautiful, we enjoyed time inside, and outside, especially the fire pit. The home is large enough to spread out and do multiple activities and have plenty of room. Of course Marley is a treat! She is a wonderful dog, everyone loved her, especially the kids. We already talked about coming back to Maple Fork Lodge, it was a great time!

Rental process was straightforward, instructions very useful. Property has some minor maintenance issues reported separately

We brought our church youth group to the area for skiing. We had fifteen in our group and I think we would almost have had as much fun just staying in the house as we did on the slopes. The snow covered cabin was beautiful and we could stay together without being on top of each other. We had a couple of very minor issues but they were addressed promptly and professionally and did not impact our stay at all. As much as we loved the property, I think our favorite thing about it was Marley, the property dog. Marley joined us for breakfast while we were there and I still think some of our kids tried to smuggle her into the van, for the trip home. I’d recommend this place 10 times out of 10. I’m almost positive that we will be back.

We decided on this cabin to be the last big vacation with our family. We had 27 people to include 15 kids ages 2-14. The cabin and property did not disappoint. There were so many things to do and places to explore that the kids were never bored. We even brought our side by sides and atvs to enjoy the beautiful mountains. Even though it rained several days the cabin was large enough to spread out and relax. I would highly recommend this cabin to any size group for a nice, relaxing, getaway. The communications with the owner were also very quick and they accommodated everything we needed. Wish we had found this place years ago. It was a great vacation home and hopefully we will be able to visit it again.
