This home was beautiful with many fun things to do around the property like use the kayaks, canoe, and firepit. The fenced yard was perfect for my dog. Great location too.

The cabin on the lake was just what we wanted. Relaxing but not too far from restaurants and other activities. Would recommend!

Beautiful home! Well equipped. Location was great! The screened in porch was the perfect place to sit, watch wildlife, read, nap.

We were looking for something on the water for the kids. The second we got there they were ready to get in the water. The view was amazing! The lake was so much fun and the house was perfect! Very cozy and equipped with everything you need. We enjoyed nights by the fire and morning on the deck. We cannot wait to visit again!

Perfect location on lake, near hiking trails and Jacob's Pillow. Well stocked for a long stay. Justin was attentive to my needs. Hope to come again next year!

The property is really lovely and feels very private. We enjoyed sitting in the yard and on the expansive porch looking at the water and listening to the birds. We used all the kayaks and the canoe almost every day. That was really all we needed.

We loved the layout and space in the house. Kayaks on the property made it so easy to take advantage of being right on the lake. Owner responded timely to all questions prior to check-in. A place to come back to.

The property was just as advertised, and just what we wanted: restful. There are other houses nearby and across the little lake, but still it felt absolutely private. It’s a nice little lake to putter around on a kayak. The home was clean and comfy and nicely woody, and we loved the little town of Becket and the surrounding area. Bring groceries with you; the nearest actual store is a ways off, although there’s a charming country store only steps from the house for immediate needs. It also serves lunch and breakfast but we did not happen to eat there. Special note: I have stayed in other VRBOs for which the owner had a very long and somewhat offputting list of rules, even little signs all over the house as reminders. I totally get it, people are renting out their own properties and tenants can be pigs, but the effect can be a little anxiety-producing, the opposite of what you want when you want peace. This owner had a very short list of common sense rules, so we felt… welcome. Nice place, nice stay.

Beautiful location, the birds were singing, and we just stood there in awe of the peaceful view, and ways and places to view it from. The outside porch, screened in porch, out the windows, outside chairs, and the swing was one of our favorites! We so enjoyed all nature had to offer. Inside was comfortable as well.

We had an amazing weekend at this lake house. The house was everything we imagined and more. Just be careful with ticks in the back yard but overall we enjoyed our stay very much!

We spent a great long weekend here. Property is perfect for small kids. House was clean and the owner made sure we had back up propane and plenty of fire wood.

I am not even sure where to begin with this review. Four adults stayed for four nights and it was absolutely so relaxing and peaceful the entire time that I wish I was still there. The home was so clean and had everything we needed. The shelves, drawers and light switches are all labeled which was absolutely amazing! We did plenty of fishing right from the dock and caught lots of bass, pickerel, and perch. There are many choices of boats (the lake is beautiful) but the weather was windy much of the time. We did use the paddle boat three times and my husband was able to fish in some of the coves and his highlight of the trip was catching a small mouth bass. We enjoyed the fire pit two nights and appreciated the dry wood that was available. The store is a two-minute walk away which sells a little bit of everything. We spent a majority of our time on the screened in porch. Although we wished we could have blocked some of the wind and it was quite chilly at times, we stuck it out and were grateful we could still be ‘outdoors’. (On the day it rained all day, we ventured out to Papa Bobs where everyone was so friendly. We enjoyed a couple of games of pool and the food was delicious). Check out time is 12pm. Who does that? I was able to enjoy my morning coffee and not be stressed by an early check out time. Justin was quick to respond every time I reached out to him and I am so thankful we were able to use his home. We most definitely hope to return.

With a few suggestions to offer future guests, we had a wonderful peaceful stay

The place is nice and functional, with a pleasant yard and screened porch. Justin was a good host, responsive and accommodating our early arrival. The biggest negative for us was the policy of dogs not being allowed on furniture which wasn't highlighted anywhere on the posting, though the property is labeled as pet-friendly. Our pups are well-groomed and we cover couches when we travel. Trying to keep them off added a fair bit of stress, especially with the 11-year old one who is very fond of couch naps. Other than that, the property is exactly like what you'd imagine from the posting. The area is nice and scenic, perfect for a getaway.

I rented the cabin for my birthday and it was exactly what I wanted!! The cabin was well outfitted with towels, sheets, utensils, glassware, dish ware, and pots/pans. It had plenty of space for 6 adults and the kayaks and other attractions were in wonderful condition! We also loved the Shoppe that was a 1 minute walk from the property. It had a delicious breakfast and was filled with some last-minute groceries when we needed a few things. Overall, a terrific trip!!

A short stay but just what we needed. Once we parked, the car didn’t start again til we were leaving. We enjoyed watching the geese, ducks and birds and the real treat was watching the otters swim back and forth. The house is super cute and comfortable. Short walk to Sherwood Shoppe where we ate most meals. The pizza and salad were great and the owners were friendly and helpful.

The views of the lake are beautiful, hearing the sounds of nature is such a nice way to wake up, the house was the right size and had everything we needed for a few days away from the city. The location was perfect, away from the main roads but not far from quaint little towns with restaurants, hiking and historic sites. Justin’s place was exactly just what we needed.

This little cabin is so inviting, and the scenery is beautiful. It was the perfect getaway for our friends and family to relax and play games away from the real world for a while. Would have loved to kayak but March is very unpredictable. Thanks for the stay we’d definitely come back again!

Property on a dirt road and is good for peace and quiet. Lake in the back yard is very nice especially if it’s in the summer time or if you ice fish. Everything was very clean and is an amazing place!

Perfect place for our sister getaway. Very quiet and cozy. Wood stove was a plus. Property was very clean and owner was very easy to contact. Would highly recommend.

Great stay with my husband and 23 year old daughter and our 2 pups. House was very clean and kitchen was well equipped for cooking. Loved the view from the back deck. Will definitely be returning in the summer to be able to sit outside. A little disappointed yard was not fenced in as stated, but we made it work and kept our pups on a leash in the back. Thanks for a fun visit and down time after the Christmas rush.

My husband, our young German Shepherd and I stayed here to spend Christmas with our daughter who lives nearby. Given how cold it was, I was worried about the heat in the house. But the house turned out to be nice and warm. We saw lovely stars through the large windows on the second floor, and the ice was like crystals on the trees. We hung our stockings over the wood stove on the nails we found there and the room was so festive. We loved the loft bedroom with the adjoining powder room. When our daughter and partner visited, we had plenty of room for dinner for the four of us at the table. In warmer months, when using the decks and screened in porch is possible, this would be a spectacular place for a larger family gathering. My only complaint is that the property was listed as having a fenced backyard, but the fence doesn’t create a fully enclosed space (and on top of that, some of the fencing was down). So it was more challenging to keep our young dog from going where he shouldn’t than I was hoping for. But since the location had very low traffic this time of year it worked out fine.

House is even nicer than shown here. Lake is beautiful and had a lovely paddle. Host is very communicate and flexible. We will be back!

Nice, quiet getaway to celebrate my husband's 50th - we all had a wonderful time and can't wait to hit the lake when it's warmer! Hiking at the nearby quarry was a great way to end our last day.

We really enjoyed the cozy lake house, with the fire pit outside and the warm, spacious inside. It was really comfortable and we didn't want to leave, just hangout in the house.

Everything was as expected and it was such a great stay! I took my 3 year old kayaking and the dogs for nature adventures and it was exactly what we all needed 🤗
