Great house, gorgeous location! Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, near historic Shelby and Kings Mountain, NC. We have 5 acres of rolling hills and hardwood forest, directly on 400' of waterfront. Plenty of space to let the kids and pets run around! Only 45 minutes from Charlotte, but worlds away from the hustle and bustle. Moss Lake is a quiet, spring-fed lake that is very clean (it’s the primary water supply for Kings Mountain) where you can canoe, fish, water ski and jet ski without the mayhem of other lakes near Charlotte. Close to Kings Mountain, Historic Shelby, Crowders Mountain, Schiele Museum, golf courses AND other attractions - there is plenty to do if you want to get out and about. The waterfront includes a large private dock with mooring cleats, only a few minutes from a public landing so getting your boat there is a breeze! With state-record bass, it’s perfect for early morning anglers; with stunning views, it’s also perfect for a sunset canoe or kayak ride (both are available for your use). Or, kick into high gear with your jet ski or power boat. Whatever your pleasure, you’ll enjoy your water sports away from the crowds for a relaxing and fun experience. On the property is a charming farmhouse with two bedrooms and one full bath and one half bath specifically set up for accommodating and entertaining large groups (owners have 5 kids, who all bring their friends for overnight sleep-overs!) With a queen-sized bed in the master bedroom, two sets of bunk beds in the other bedroom, as well as a queen-sized air mattress available the great room - which all mean you can sleep up to 6 comfortably, or up to 8 if you have a big family like we do! Includes newly renovated modern kitchen and bathroom, washer/dryer, new water heater, A/C, etc. Media includes HDTV with DVD player, free WiFi, and a bunch of popular movies for your use. We even have a closet full of books, puzzles and board games if the kids ever wear out from all the fun in the sun. My wife and I recently retired and wanted a get-away to celebrate. Lohith was perfect for us. It is close to many activities and restaurants, yet secluded and a beautiful setting that will may you want to stay put and enjoy Lohith. We enjoyed hiking, biking and relaxing. We also spent a day in Asheville, only 1 1/2 hours away. The house itself was well stocked with EVERYTHING and was clean. The bed was very comfortable. We took our dog, who enjoyed watching squirrels, deer, geese and other animals, as well as playing in the lake. It was well worth the price. We would certainly be willing to stay there again.

A great property to relax with privacy, we were lucky to have perfect weather all week! The house was well stocked, over the top to accommodate us from the kitchen, super comfy bed, bathrooms, loved the mud room at the back entrance for your stuff when coming in from the lake. Enjoyed the swing at the bottom of the huge yard, kayaking everyday, the lake water was warm and very clean. Was able to set up our dome tent on the dock everyday and in evening for relaxation. Had great experiences and food visiting fantastic restaurants in nearby towns. (search online it's worth it!) I highly recommend this little charmer for a peaceful and quiet getaway, Thank you Steve and Michelle!

Never a dull moment, between fishing (using the nearby launch), kayaking and canoeing, swimming in the lake, watching movies, playing board games and doing puzzles, there was never an “I’m bored.”

We had an amazing week at this lakeside cottage. It was clean, cozy, and the beachfront was perfect for swimming and enjoying the lake. The house was fully stocked with essentials like toilet paper and utensils. The highlight of our stay was the beachfront area, which provided a fantastic space for playing in the water and soaking up the sun. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at this cottage.

LOHITH 2 lives up to its name and became my family's little oasis over winter break while we visited extended family in NC. The house is fantastic, well-stocked, and well-kept. With the cold weather, we didn't get much time to enjoy the property and lake. But did spend a little time on the dock and various swings. I can imagine how wonderful and relaxing it is in warmer weather. There's lots of nature to view and we enjoyed identifying all the birds that wandered onto the property. The owners were friendly & prompt to respond to any questions we had. TL;DR: If you're looking for a place to stay in this area this is it!

The house is fantastic, very comfortable, spacious, and has everything you need! The property is great, has lots of room, and is very private. We brought a couple dogs and had lots of room to frisbee them. Our only regret is it was 45 degrees outside so we couldn't enjoy any water-related activities. Guess we'll have to come back when it's warmer!

This is our second stay at this property. Wonderful house in a quiet setting, but only a 5 minute drive to Cleveland Mall. Beautiful view of the lake with canoe available for use and a fishing dock. Everything is well stocked at the house, need only to bring groceries you want. Spent lots of time on the spacious deck just relaxing. Will stay again when we are in the area.

This is our second time we stayed at this lovely property and it was just a great as before! It is a really nice home and a great lake. The owners have provided everything that you would need in the house. Our dog, Moxie, loved to swim! We totally relaxed here and spent a lot of time by the water and on the huge deck. We got fresh veggies and fruits at both Tom's and Hamrick's. We saw a lot of the town and surrounding area. We wished we could've stayed longer!

This is a lovely home directly on a very quiet lake. The house was extremely clean and well supplied. Everything was in perfect working order. The house sits on top of a rolling lawn that goes down to a large water frontage with a dock. We enjoyed swimming every day. I suggest you wear water shoes as the bottom is slippery. There was never more than four boats on the lake every day,so it is quite private. It also has a large tree buffer on both sides so you don't see any other homes. We found several walking trails for the dogs in nearby Shelby,which is,by the way,a really cute little town. It had a farmers market Wednesday that had the sweetest tomatoes and blueberries. The only addition I would suggest is to add a gas grill for outdoors. This place is clean, comfortable and in a terrific location for enjoying the lake.

This was the perfect place to kick off summer for our family and pets. They had everything we could possibly need and the lake views were amazing. The hosts were great to work with and we fell in love with the little city of Shelby. Our Goldendoodle refused to leave. Jumped from the car and back to the porch! Thanks for a great stay!

We've used VRBO for years, and this was one of the best experiences we've had. First, let's talk about the Location... 45 min outside of charlotte. Easy enough to head to town for a big activity, but far enough away to have space. The town had everything we need. Reasonably priced groceries, delicious restaurants, rainy day activities... The property is increadible. Lots of land to run and play on, a beautiful lake that was big enough for water activities without swimming with boats. I loved that the bushes hide the house from the road so you feel like you've stepped into another world. The house was WELL equipt. there were more kitchen gadgets than bed baths and beyond. The beds were comfy, the house was clean. We didn't use the wood-burning stove, but it was a cool feature. The owners were also great. I had a question about the dryer and they helped me troubleshoot it. They also offered to come out if needed (Which it wasn't). But most owners would just tell you oh well. Super Friendly and helpful when we needed them, but they left us alone to enjoy our vacation when we didn't One of the things I appreciated the most... was their binder. They gave us instructions on how to use everything, recommendations on food, grocery stores, rainy day activities, rules of the lake, etc...I have never been given such a comprehensive guide, and I wish every homeowner did this. I would definitely stay here again.

The week we spent at LOHITH was very relaxing. The house was very clean and well equipped for anything we might possibly need. We used the charcoal grill to cook dinner (be sure to visit the Saturday market in uptown Shelby) and we enjoyed coffee from Hannah’s (in Shelby) and every morning on the back deck overlooking the water. The sunrises were gorgeous and our dog woke me up every morning at 5:30 to walk down to the dock. The lake was clean and we spent a lot of time in it and took out the canoe that was available as well. The house felt very private with tall landscaping and woods on the front and sides of the house. On property we saw a deer, rabbits, squirrels, a heron, an eagle, an osprey, and plenty of birds. We will definitely enjoyed our stay and have already recommended this rental to our friends. Everything about your home was beautiful and wonderful. With a big smile I say that you're missing only one thing, and that would be a spaghetti Fork. Everything about this charming cottage was perfect! There was plenty of space, both indoors and outdoors, and it had the most well equipped kitchen I’ve ever seen in a rental property. It felt very much like a home. We loved the deck and the dock! My teenagers even put away their devices and played board games from the cabinet! Check in and check out were simple and the owners were available for questions. Thank you for sharing your space!

Waking up and seeing the peaceful lake and rising sun is so very relaxing at lohith II. Enjoyed our short stay. Very clean and well appointed. We stayed during a long weekend of baseball at Gardner Webb University (25 mins away). Our 4 legged friend loved the large property and would have liked a swim but the weather was a little chili. What a great place to escape the chaos of life.

Great location and amazing sunrises! Unfortunately, my stay was not as pleasurable as I'd hoped due to prior renters with their dogs and their inability to clean up after them. I'm a long-time dog owner and totally recognize that being allowed into another's home with my dog is an absolute privilege. Thereby, I make it a priority to ensure that the property is left as if there was never a dog there - this includes picking up the dog poop! Nothing worse than stepping in a poop land mine - even worse when it's not from your dog. PFUI on those prior renters...
