About this house rental

Wake up each morning to an incredible sunrise view over Lake Superior. This hilltop house offers a sparkling and unobstructed view that spans the south shore beaches all the way to Marquette’s monolithic oar dock. These spectacular views of the Lower Harbor region can be enjoyed from within the house as well as from the deck situated above a fenced in back yard. The deck-top hot tub is operational year-round, and is the perfect place to watch 4th of July fireworks, the first snowfall, and everything in between. A quick drive or 10 minute stroll will land you in the heart of Marquette as this house sits at an ideal launch point to the downtown and Lower Harbor areas. Directly in view is the Founder's Landing portion of our highly acclaimed lakeside bike path, which stretches for miles between nationally ranked mountain biking trails on one end and the famed Black Rocks of Presque Isle Park on the other. Even during busy festivals and events you will have easy access to multiple entry points for all Marquette has to offer. This bright and open Victorian house offers high ceilings, hardwood floors and original woodwork throughout. Features like an oversized pocket door and the kitchen's tin ceiling stand as reminders that this house was built in 1900. The upper level of the house has a full bath and three bedrooms, each with a full or queen bed made up with high quality dressings and featuring considerable closet and dresser space. The lower level offers all of the amenities of home with plenty of seating in the dining area and living room and a half bath tucked behind the laundry. The fully stocked kitchen will serve your needs whether you want to host a dinner party or simply plate up some take out from one of our local restaurants. The antique aesthetic and modern touches of this house blend to create a setting that combines comfort and style. Whether you are coming to rest, swim, ride, surf, ski, climb, tour, dogsled, hike, explore, visit family, work, or lay on the beach, this house will serve as the perfect platform for your stay. Great stay and great host. The property was as advertized and in a great location for our annual ski trip to Marquette Mountain. The host was very responsive and we (as a group) are already looking forward to booking this property agin for our trip next year.

We rented this property primarily for a mother/daughter private getaway. This rental is in my own neighborhood, but we were lured by the outdoor hot tub. This is an incredibly hard to find feature in this neck of the woods. There is something magical about being in an outdoor hot tub in the thick of winter! On our last evening, we invited our spouses to join us. The home is spotless and has everything one needs. I really appreciated not having to run to the store for every little thing and also that we were not expected to do a bunch of chores before leaving. The hot tub was also very clean and quite hot enough despite the cold and is actually much larger than it appears in the photos.

Our family of six (four young adult "kids" and two parents thrilled to be together) really enjoyed this place. We came up to cross country and downhill ski and snowshoe and skate and play hockey outside -- only to run into global overheating + El Niño. Despite almost constant fog, drizzle, rain, overcast and 20 degree above normal temps, we had a terrific time. We hiked every day all over the region, each place more beautiful than the next. And we cooked and played board games and jumped in the hot tub and walked to interesting places in the city. Communication with the host was great, which mattered a lot because a new boiler wasn't set right, and she got it fixed promptly. We loved the old house and its location, and it was just big enough for six - as long as you have a group that can share three nice beds, you're golden.

Our family visited Marquette for a tour of NMU for our high school age son. The house was in a great location with views of Lake Superior and within walking distance to downtown (if you don't mind getting a little exercise). The house was clean, check in was easy and we were very comfortable throughout the weekend. Wish we could have stayed longer!
