LAKE WATEREE: The perfect lakefront getaway for all seasons! This home has a very natural and rustic appeal. Located on a nicely wooded lot with plenty of shade the home is sided in rough-cut wood siding and has wood on the floors and walls inside. A large spacious living area with vaulted ceilings and fireplace. A warm and inviting kitchen with large pantry. The Master bedroom suite is located on the main floor, while the additional 2 bedrooms are located upstairs. A very gently sloping lot makes access to the lake and pier a breeze. The property consists of a private pier and floating dock. Please understand the owners keep 2 boats docked at all times- one on the lift and one on the left side of the dock. However, there is always one slip available on the right side of the dock for renters. Colonel Creek is located approximately 3 minutes from the cabin and has three wonderful ramps where you can unload & load your boat., a gas station across the street and The Retreat Restaurant. The home is located on a quiet cove just off of the main lake. It is also located on a short dead end street so Privacy and peace and quiet are almost a guarantee! I took my 3 sons for a guys fishing weekend. Enjoyed every minute. My youngest son, caught his first real big fish off the dock and now he’s hooked! Thank you Deborah and Vaughn!

First off, the pictures do NOT do this place any justice! It is so beautiful and peaceful 😍 We did a three night stay with a 8 and 2 year old and they enjoyed every minute of it. The home was extremely clean and well stocked with linens, extra supplies, and almost every kitchen appliance you can think of. You will need to being condiments and seasonings if you plan to cook, supplies for the coffee maker, and Tupperware if you plan to save anything. The view from the balconies and the view of the lake in general were so beautiful. We caught a good bit of fish and threw them back so ita a perfect spot for fishing. There is a charcoal grill but it is lit by gas and also a full gas grill. The internet went out while we were there and the owners were nice enough to stop by and make aure everything was ok. There is a restaurant about 2-3 minutes away on the lake called The Retreat which is beautiful. You can eat breakfast lunch or dinner by the lake. Theres also a market/gas station across feom the restaurant. The Winnsboro train museum was 29 minutes away so we made a day of that with the kids but overall it was a pleasant trip and I look forward to booking again!

The house is tucked away on the lake and was so quiet and peaceful. The beds were comfy, we had everything we needed in the house. The deck has several seating areas and ceiling fans that make it perfect for morning with lights that make it perfect for evenings. We were able to hang out on the deck in July which we didn't expect. It was a great place to walk the neighborhood as well. No traffic so all you hear are the birds. Lots of comfy seats inside and a nice kitchen made it feel like home. You have an amazing view of the lake from the den, and every bedroom has a view of the lake. This is a great place!

What a great gem, hidden in a quiet cove near the beautiful main lake. The home itself has lots of character! It is comfy and very clean, with great porches/decks. There is a beautiful shaded yard on the road side. It is very near the local market, where you can get non-ethanol gas for boats, as well as most anything else you’d need. A five pound bass caught in the main channel was the biggest “hit” for the grandsons! Thank you!

Me and my family and our guests have enjoyed everything provided on our weekend stay and we were so appreciative for The Granger’s for allowing us to have our family function there. Everything was nice from the house, the peaceful environment to the fabulous back and front yard space and view of the lake. Til this day my family and guest still talk about the wonderful time we had that weekend and we hope to book back soon in the near future.

I’ve stayed here several times over the years and it just gets better. From fishing to just sitting listening to nature, you never get enough. A lot of sites advertise a lot of things, but this is what it says and more..We will be back …A lil bit of heaven on earth!

We had a lovely stay at the property! We had plenty of room and privacy with the three bedrooms and 2.5 baths! The ambiance was woodsy and comforting. The convenience store down the road was also very helpful!
Things to know: if you’d like to use the fireplace, you do need to bring your own wood. It was not provided.
Additionally, basic cooking essentials are not provided such as salt, pepper, oil or any plastic wrap/foil. Also, we had trouble with the oven heating fully, so just keep this in mind if you intend to cook.
All in all, we would absolutely stay here again, but come with additional supplies.

Beautiful house and property but strange noises day and night throughout the house. Didn't get any sleep and when speaking with the property manager, she stated it was probably squirrels running across the tin roof. I know the difference between running on wood and running on tin. Needless to say, I didn't stay the second night because I knew I wouldn't get any sleep.

Our stay was very nice and the owners are very reachable. I love the large deck and not that far of a walk to get to the lake. Even though we had a hurricane one of the days, we still enjoyed it very much.

Such a beautiful spot on the lake with a large shaded yard for play and relaxation! An altogether wonderful place with great parking and a quiet neighborhood.

We enjoyed our stay so much. The location lends itself to a relaxing by-the-lake experience. The beds and furnishings were very comfortable. One suggestion is we were surprised not to have hangers and a place to hang clothes. We were in the area for a formal event and could have used the hanging space, and due to flying into Columbia, all of our clothes were without hangers. Another thing which was a little inconvenient and that was request that we as guest take the trash to the recycling place which was about a twenty minute drive there and back. We took our trash only to find that the recycling center does not open until 2:00 pm so we had to take the trash back to the house. It took sometime from a busy morning trying to get around to get to the airport in Columbia on time for an early morning flight. We would definitely stay again. It is an enjoyable property!
