Friendly check-in staff. Large room with a good mattress. Wi-Fi was free and available throughout the property. Big screen TV and plenty of Spanish-language channels to choose from. An excellent location, within walking distance (2km: better done in the morning before it gets really hot) of the Central Plaza and colonial center. Only 400m from Walmart. I was able to extend my checkout to 1 p.m. Another 400m down Calle 60 puts you into a complex of excellent restaurants.
Gym is so-so. Lobby has a bakery/coffee shop and a fine-dine Italian restaurant only . . . could have done with another F&B outlet on premises. No on-premise shopping center, but there's one literally across the street, so that's not a major issue.

Tuve un problema dos días de mi estancia ya que de la salida de ventilación del baño se hizo presente una noche y una mañana olor a marihuana por tiempo unos minutos. Lo comenté al personal que me apoyó a hacer check out; ojalá lo tomen en cuenta. No se si hayan sido los huéspedes de junto o su mismo personal pero yo iba con mi bebé de un año así que fue mucho más desagradable entrar al baño a bañarla, tuvimos que esperar en ambas ocasiones a que el olor terminara.

Good hotel in central Mérida. Easily accessible from anywhere (ADO station just a few steps away).
Not the cleanest room, a bit expensive for the level of comfort.

Location
We went there for the pool. It was working. Everyone that booked that hotel for XMAS went for the pool. The pool heater was broke and never fixed until after New Year's!!

We went there for the swimming pool for our 4 year old daughter. The pool was broke and the water was around 40F or 3C!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!! They lied to us when they said the pool was heated. It may have been heated years ago, but not this year!! Next time we are staying at the Hilton!!

When was doing my reservation I requested a crib for my babie, once I did my check in I requested again, never gave me the crib, called to guest service and they said to bring the crib in 15 mins but they never bring it

My only issue was the temperature of the air conditioning through out the hotel. It was very cold making it impossible to enough any of the public spaces. Fortunately, I was able to have it turned off in my room

People were very kind, it was clean
The only reason why we stayed at the hotel were the tennis courts that were not working at all! When I called to ask before booking the rooms no one mentioned anything about them being serviced. Also we stayed over Christmas, the dinner was $1,800pp and the dinner was terrible. Same service as the morning + 3 extra plates and no music no drinks no nothing. Wayyyyyyyy over priced for a buffet. They sent us to bed at 10pm on Christmas, like REALLY MAN? FOR 1,800 A PLATE?????

the location, shopping, and restaurant nearby. Check-in was a Headache and a Nightmare. The service staff was Excellent. The foul-up at Check-in when the Hyatt stole my money and made me pay double was outrageous.
The Christmas decorations were beautiful.
The General Management took NO RESPONSIBILITY for the foul-ip or their illegal machines. I am still out several hundred dollars that the Hyatt Regency has not returned.
Check-in was awful and dampened my entire weeklong experience. I will refer this situation to Profeco and will no longer recommend the Hyatt Regency Merida to the world.
