We loved the house and everybody had fun fishing in the pond.

I cannot say enough positive things about this property. This trip was a girls getaway that allowed us to get in touch with nature but not be too far from civilization! It is a beautiful property! I enjoyed the peace and serenity that came with the morning, steady haze hovering over the pond as the June sunrise started to warm up the day. The location is perfect-if you want to go to French lick, holiday world, Marengo caves, river canoeing—all within reasonable distances! There is a gas station/ convenience store and a dollar general right off the main road if you forget anything. The cabin is well maintained as well as super comfortable. Owners even had a welcome basket! Martha was always responsive when we messaged prior to our trip (our group traveled a good distance and as the leader of the group I had questions for those what-if scenarios)! Wifi worked great for 6 people and streaming. Tons of photogenic spots on the property! Yes, there is a train that is pretty close to the property so if you have young kids or animals who scare easily it’s worth noting but it didn’t bother us. Our last day when we woke up, it poured down rain and it was just the most relaxing sound hearing it hit the roof of the cabin. It was a wonderful getaway and we were thankful for the opportunity to have spent our trip there! I plan to return with my family in the future. Thank you, Mitchell Family!

It rained and stormed every day of our stay. We weren't able to go to Holiday World as planned but that didnt stop us from fishing the catch and release pond. We had a great time nonetheless. There are some nice catfish in the pond. We went to Wilstem Ranch and ate at several restaurants. Overall a great time

My wife and I enjoyed the house for a get away weekend. It was clean and they layout was great. We actually enjoyed it when the train passed by. My wife might return later for another get away with her sisters. Also enjoyed the Overlook Restaurant while we were there.

Cute little cabin, easy to find, close to the lake. The owners really take pride in their homes with cleanliness, hospitality, comfy beds, and the amenities like hot tub, fishing pond, and fire pit. It fit comfortable 4 adults and 2 kids. This is our second stay there and we will be back again!

We were heading to Wilstem farms for a visit and needed a great place to stay and enjoy some family time. This place was awesome. We got to make great use of the firepit. Had some interesting fun at the pond. Its a catch and release pond however the fish didn't get the memo. We had 3 poles pulled in the water by catfish. We got them out later by catching them when casting out. Once we got the pole back with a catfish hooked. We laughed and made great memories. This cabin and the owners communication couldn't have been better. GREAT JOB

Very clean and has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The owners are very prompt at responding if you reach out to them for anything. Loved the area!!!

This is our second time staying at this cabin and we once again had a fantastic time! There was great hiking to do in the area and the kids loved playing in the large yard, creek, and enjoying several campfires. The owners were wonderful about answering any questions we had and provided a wonderful place to create lasting memories. :-)

Martha and her husband were excellent at helping us with any need we had during our stay. They were kind enough to allow us to stay a little longer and got the hot tub running for us. We truly enjoyed our stay and train is hardly noticeable unless you are outside. Would recommend to friends.

We loved the cabin & the area. Very close to Patoka Lake. Only about 20 mins to French Lick. Very nice property. Would definitely stay here again.

Very clean and comfortable cabin. Well stocked kitchen and welcome back was a nice touch! We enjoyed the hot tub and swings. Nice to watch the sunrise from the balcony each morning! We would definitely stay again if in the area.

This little cabin is basically in the middle of nowhere, but there is a Dollar General just down the hill. The owners are the coolest/chillest owners I've had to work with. The place came with some complimentary snacks and even a local bottle of wine (which was delicious). There is an active train track just yards from the cabin which you can barely hear once inside. We liked sitting in the hot tub watching the train go by!! (obviously this isn't for everyone, but like I said, when inside you can't really hear it) 10 out of 10!! We have already been bragging about this place to our friends! The location is perfect: minutes from the interstate and less than 30 min from the French Lick area and casino!! I'm not sure when, but we will be returning!!

This property was perfect for a relaxing intimate New Year's Eve with my wife. It feels like home as soon as you walk in.

Great property. Very clean and comfortable. The trains were only a problem the first night, after that you get used to them. Unfortunately there weren’t any fish in the pond.

The perfect getaway! The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. Would like to revisit in other seasons to enjoy the outdoors.

We had a lovely retreat with our parents and teenaged son. My favorite part was sitting on the swings in the morning with my father in law, and having coffee with him. The cabin was well stocked with everything, and the Dollar General is close by for anything we forgot. By the end of our week long stay, we were used to the sound of the train, which went by three or four times per day. The tracks are a stones throw away from the cabin, but we didn't mind it. We were able to unplug from our busy lives, and just relax with family. We watched movies, played table games, (there's a card table with four chairs provided) and spent as much time on the beautiful deck overlooking the pond as we could. We experienced our first snow of the season at the end of our state, and it was beautiful. We would definitely return!

This cabin is a wonderful place to stay. The setting is beautiful and private. It is very close to the lake and there is a dollar feel store across the street. It was well stocked, and very comfortable. The master bed was extremely comfortable, which was a nice bonus! My children enjoyed sitting by the fire and by the lake. The sunset was amazing! I highly recommend staying here, and we definitely will again in the future.

Great place to stay. Enjoyed fishing in pond and using firepit and jaccuzi. Close to many area attractions. Walking distance to Dollar General store. Very clean and stocked. Welcome basket very nice touch.

Very accommodating host with attention to detail. We had our mostly-grown kids in for part of the week, and they enjoyed the hot tub, deck and outdoor seating areas. Plenty of room in the open floor plan for everyone to interact on the rainy days. Very clean cabin. Close to lots of interesting places. We especially enjoyed hiking/boating on Patoka Lake and visiting West Baden Springs Hotel in French Lick. Highly recommend!

Greatly satisfied but would have been nice to have a table to eat at and play games. Shower downstairs didn’t have good water pressure. We would highly recommend this cabin and would stay here again.

All as advertised. Comfortable place, private and well kept. Enjoyed the trains going by because it isn't a part of our normal lives. Nice hot tub. Would return.

Its a great property. The pond in the morning with your coffee is very nice. Everything was clean and organized. The check-in was seamless and the host communicated promptly and professionally. The only notes I would have is there is no place inside for four people to sit together for a meal. There is a table for four outside on the deck. This is fine when the weather is nice but not so much in cold or hot weather. There is a bar at the counter but there are only three stools.

Really liked this little cabin for our time away, close to the lake, caves, French Lick and even Louisville a little further south.

We had a great time staying at your cabin. It was quiet, even with train tracks near by. Our grand daughter was amazed by the train. Cabin was well equipped Would recommend to others.

Super nice property. Very clean and well maintained. Only downside is a train that runs throughout the night on the tracks beside the house but not a huge deal.
