The hotel is in a great location just outside the city centre on a generally quiet street. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes within walking distance. The rooms are large for the price, and the water pressure in the shower is excellent. The staff are really friendly, they even shared with us some delicious local sweet treats when we stopped back there for a rest in the middle of the day. Whilst we didn't have a language in common, it was very easy to use translation tools to help us communicate.
There are some improvements we'd recommend the guesthouse make when they can. The main issue is that the windows in our room were facing the shared internal staircase (not in itself a problem, we weren't expecting a view) which has an automated, very bright light. This means that throughout the night, we were woken up by a bright light shining into the room. It would be more comfortable to sleep in the room if the windows were completely covered up.
Secondly, when we arrived, our room was full of mosquitos. We spent an hour or so chasing them so we weren't bitten in our sleep, but noticed the doors to the other rooms are open when not in use by guests, and imagine this is how our room was filled with them prior to our arrival. We recommend the guesthouse keep the doors shut, as mosquitoes were not a problem once we got rid of the initial culprits and kept the doors closed!
