The location is excellent and the apartment was lovely and well-appointed. Right in the middle of the restaurant, river market and walking distance to everything Douro and Porto. Excellent. Elevator to the 4th floor was sooo good.
Had a few issues getting in. We couldn’t find an iron despite an ironing board being provided and advice from hosts to keep looking. Some of the doors - especially the main bedroom - didn’t open. In Summer this made it a bit hot as there is no air conditioning. But lovely breezes from the river circulated through the rest of the apartment. Can’t complain. Great spot.

This is a spacious, corner, 4th floor, one bedroomed apartment with good views (partial views of the river and a great view of the River Market and the green space of Praça do Infante D. Henrique). Very comfortable beds and sofa. Full-size fridge-freezer, 4 ring hob, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and lovely toiletries in the bathroom. Note: there was a lift to the 4th floor.
No air con meant that we needed to open windows and the mosquitos got in! There were a couple of maintenance issues I had to report but that didn't affect our enjoyment.

The apartment is just amazing! Beautifully appointed, corner unit with floor to ceiling French doors that opened onto a wrap-around balcony overlooking a park, two old churches, and the river!
Service is utterly dismal. They are quick to ask for security deposits, and have a huge WhatsApp group that’s supposed to be your points of contact, but they are incredibly unorganized and slow to respond, and seem to have too many cooks in the kitchen.
I arrived at 11pm and the entry instructions still hadn’t been uploaded to my confirmation, so I had to WhatsApp the group. It took them a while to get back to me, just to say they were just then generating some code I had to enter into an app to open the building door. It was cold, late, and I was exhausted—hardly in the mood to jump through hoops to enter a building. No apology, no explanation as to why this wasn’t all provided well before my arrival. Completely unacceptable.
There was a cute note on the door welcoming me, but I’d much rather they used their time to provide me with my checkin instructions without me having to ask. Then they had no idea where I could get my COVID test to get on my flight to go home. They referred me to a place across the river, where when I called, nobody spoke English so they hung up on me. Instead of being helpful, the hosts dismissed me with “there’s nothing more we can do to help.” A hotel would never, ever say that to a guest. They would be knowledgeable and hospitable. Just appalling.
So I lost a day panicking while frantically contacting every tour guide I had met to see if they knew where I could go. By a miracle, in my wild goose chase, I walked by a Tourism Center and the agent there gave me 3 local pharmacies, one on the same block, where I could get tested. It’s unacceptable that I had to figure this out on my own because the hosts were clueless and just didn’t care. I forwarded the info to them, so their future guests wouldn’t go through the same ordeal, and they were thankful, but again, completely unapologetic. Not at all the Portuguese hospitality I encountered everywhere else.
