The apartment was in such a prime position. It was on a busy street, however it did not affect the comfort of the apartment. The windows were double glazed and barely heard any street noise. Everything was nearby, the fabulous street market, the metro and a shopping complex facing the apartment too. It was faultless, clean, comfortable bed and easy access when checking in. Loved staying there and felt very lucky to have stayed there. The A/C was the quietest I have heard and effective too. Many thanks. Beautiful apartment.

This is a real find and I would jump on it if it's available. The apartment is located in Santa Catarina, a lively street right next to the market. It's maybe a 20 minute walk downhill to the cathedral and the water, but easily reached. There is a nearby metro station. This area feels more like where the locals are than the tourists. There are local cafes and places that scream locals, which are wonderful. There's a nice supermarket nearby if you want to use the refrigerator and stove (they charge at the supermarket if you want bags, so pay for them or bring your backpack with you).
Stop by Confeitaria do Bolhão to pick up some breakfast. It's a very nice cafe where the locals go.
The street is very busy, but the apartment is very quiet. It looks over the back of the building and is above a bakery. There is a patio for the bakery that the apartment overlooks, but I didn't find any noise from the people eating below. Overall this is an excellent find and I would stay here again.
